LOL. That's not a repaint. :lol

Yeah, it's just a strange, high-contrast photo that's altering the look.

This HT Ben is clearly a headsculpt HT will have to revisit. There's definitely some Alec Guiness in there, but this try simply isn't close enough for this to head into production. The criticisms about the slight Asian-ness, looking too young are definitely valid.

This and Han have been the two protos that will just have to be revisited. Vader and Chewy have more minor - and do-able - issues to fix.

For only 230 dollars more, you can transform your Alec Guinness into **** chamberlain. Free glass of kool aid with every purchase.

The inner robes on the SSC old Ben are much more accurate than the HT version from what I can see. The HT version looks like prequel-era Ben Kenobi to me. And though the cloak looks better tailored on the HT version, it will be interesting to see if it can attain that "wizard look" with the hood up that the SSC does perfectly.

Come on Waller. You know you're thirsty. Put down that Belgian triple and have a sip of kool aid. Join the herd. close your mind. Don't question flaws. Buy all 150 versions of iron man. If a problem arises bury your head in the sand and blame another company.

No IMs for me, but I will be watching these SW figures with great interest. :lecture

Thats the best picture Ive ever seen of the stock sculpt then

Well my overhead IKEA lighting probably makes it look a lot better than it really is. Here it is under the flat, fluorescent lighting of my kitchen. Although that makes the skin look far more yellow and less pink than it actually is (or it's just my crappy phone camera that's doing that).

That is not a flattering photo.:lol

No, both sculpt and paint look really dated. As bad as HT's likeness is, I think it beats this just by being way more detailed.

This is the thread for Ben. The thread for HT Richard Chamberlain is the other one. :wink1:

I think it was an attempt to put down the $60 Sideshow doll, which years later in a rare instance, still looks better than Hot Toys $250 doll. :lol

Ha, exactly. Which is why I definitely prefer the lighting in my other picture instead. :D

Eh, personally I'd rather have something that is instantly recognizable as the actor than something that just happens to have lots of extra detail and realistic skin texture.

I love the new HT Ben, love the headsculpt despite the chuckleheads trying to meme it out, but Trevor hit a home run with his Old Ben sculpt. Look at how nice it is with those crappy 7 year old paint apps, and for anyone whos ever seen pics of his Ben with quality repaints... nuff said. :lol

I don't know the HT process, maybe they only use in house talent, but imagine their paint apps on an updated sculpt done by Trevor, this would have definitely been the Jedi we were looking for.

Of course the old SSC Ben is a great sculpt, I'm not disputing that at all (who would), but yeah.. that paint.

Those wrinkles in his forehead look like razor blade cuts. :lol
