The seller is US Based so that's in $. He's also selling cap for $1999. Odd thing though, he makes no mention this is a pre-order. Isn't that asking for trouble?

Yes I think that's against Ebay policies if it's longer than 30 days. I hate a-holes like this. I wouldn't be so annoyed by this if this was something that was long out of production for many years, but most of these aren't even arriving just yet.

Before the "product description" it say's

Manufactured by: XM STUDIOS
Limited Edition: TBD
Item Status: PRE-SALE

Price is still crazy though. :panic:

This guy probably knows he won't get $3,499...

But some folks love to start the bidding price high, offer a "best price option", and let the buyer feel as though he is forcing the seller to "settle" for a lower price.

IMHO...once this piece hits the market, there will be collectors will pay a premium to get it. They may not pay $3,499...but I would not be surprised to see some of these selling around $2,000+. Magneto is a very popular character, and this piece has a lot of "presence". It's one of those pieces, that if someone were to come and look at your collection...they would be immediately drawn to this and be very impressed.

Standard ebay strategy, seller has nothing to lose....and I totally agree with your assessment.

Exactly man...the seller has absolutely nothing to lose. And hey...he just might find that one individual who has the disposable income to drop $3,499 on a statue and not blink twice.

We sit here laughing or criticizing this guy for pricing this piece so aggressively...and I could potentially be laughing all the way to the bank.

Oh...what I meant to say was...."he" could be potentially laughing all the way to the bank. :wink1:

I bet he will get best offers in the $1500 range easily.

the sad part is $1500 wouldn't even cover the ebay fees and shipping costs, you break even at that point but barely.

Well, since it's best offer, you can get around eBay fee easily by just talking to the buyer. It's presale, so it's just 1 way shipping from Singapore to buyer, not an extra leg from Singapore to seller, then seller to buyer. So $1500 is still profitable. But for me to sell it now, my best offer will auto decline anything less than $2500. No one buying this with the intention to flip would sell for $1500.

Will you guys be displaying Magneto with other statues or off on his own? Maybe with SS Sentinel later? Or other Marvel villains on throne like SS Doom and or Ultron?

I'm still trying to get a Magneto. Haven't thought that far yet :lol

I may even sell mine yet since I have Madx Magneto, but Mags is my favourite character though, so probably not.

There's an awesome custom Statue of Wolverine on throne made from the skulls of dead mutants, laying back with a Cigar. It's only 1/6 scale though, if it was 1/4 it would have been the most epic twin set of statues ever.....

I'll be displaying mine with my SSC Apocalypse EX and SSC Sentinel - Mags in the middle (since he's not as tall) with a small piece of art above him.

Mags and Xm Wolverine will go perfect together. Both same height, and both with sentinel part base's like the ideal X-men base's would be :)

Thats my plan... Then throw my windlass replica Wolverine claws in behind too. Going to be a killer display! :D
