Christ that's extreme. How can it be happening so fast? I know it's ultimately gonna happen to them all but what kind of display conditions accelerate it to that degree...

Why don't they just make the dome outta plastic? Isn't this what happened with the 1st ED209?

Sorry this is happening to you Freaks

Heh, yeah....people are so focused on putting silicon grease and the like, we forgot to update the situation with some reality.

As a matter of fact, is this the worst condition thus far? Do we have record of how bad it has truly gotten?

Well...cornerstore just exchanged my old ED for a new one:lol:lol. I was told by Jedster at Famcon that this silicone lube should do the trick.

So basically they just swapped it for another one with a rubber dome that is prone to deterioration unless you keep it lubed up. That is some bullsheeeet.

Never use silicone on rubber!

Why wouldn't you google it? He told you to google it.

I'm just kidding really. I am interested in hearing any and all theories on saving these new ed-209's.

Please everyone post progress pics of your domes and let us know your method of preserving. I'm still on the fence about what I want to apply to my dome. I gotta do something sooner than later.

I'm glad you got a laugh from it!

This is now showing on the "best seller" section of the Sideshow page despite the problems people are reporting.

Why aren't there any reviews posted on Sideshow's site regarding the rubber problem?

https://www.sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/robocop-ed-209-hot-toys-902058/

Has anyone with this problem that purchased through Sideshow actually posted a well-worded review pointing out the problem to see if it gets posted? Per Sideshow's guidelines, there is nothing stating that reviews of defective products shouldn't be posted as long as the submitted review is professional and not attacking Sideshow or their affiliates.

It would be interesting to see if people who actually submit reviews pointing out the problem have their reviews deleted, or do we already know that is happening?

Just returned this turd back to sideshow..... Lost 60 bucks in shipping to and from my home...... I waited 3 years for Ed...... Because hot toys seems to act like it's no big deal to screw over collectors time and time again I've made the decision to cut back on there items dramatically...... Thanks sideshow for helping my wallet.

...and excessively negative could be subjective.
Would be my guess.

Would be interesting to know if any here actually have done that though, as you mention.

Same would go for other pieces.
Wonder how Apoc and Warrior LSB comments look...
