The bottom line is this is one statue and I doubt EU retailers are going to pull their orders from SS. The bottom line is the customers that wanted it got screwed, the retailers will just sell something else and make money. I doubt EU retailers had a huge mark up on this statue anyhow and can easily just blame SS and continue doing business. SS dropped the ball on this but just sold out Marty McFly in 5 hours so I doubt any of our voices will be heard or even cared about.

I am just a wee bit confused about all of this...
So this statue has limited pieces, only 2000. European retailers ordered this statue, but SSC cancelled other retailers orders in order to save stock for there own site and for there own customers. Now the latest run of this statue has sold out and will ship in december for those that bought from SSC.
So if the latest run will ship in December does that mean that more of these will make its way to the secondary market, thus hopefully lowering the price?

That's a possibility but highly unlikely. The latest run of the statue couldn't have been more than a couple of hundred pieces at most. More than likely most people will keep it because they really want it, the few that don't will flip it already knowing how much of a profit they can make.
Due to the high demand of this figure, would Sideshow produce more? It makes sense. European retailers would get the figure plus anyone who missed out on it. Would love for SSC to do this. Would be very easy money, even if they raised the price on it, I know people would still jump at the chance to get it.

No it doesn't make sense, this hobby doesn't work like that. This statues have an edition size for a reason people would go crazy if Sideshow pulled something like that lol.
Lol that defeats the purpose of a limited edition statue. Also Mythos is discontinued Disney says it's non cannon and will not produce any more. This statue will be the holy grail of Star Wars...

As much as I love the Obi, he would look really out of place in my Boba collection, lol. That being said Obi truly is a museum quality statue that I will hopefully pick up one day when I get a CEO's Salary
People would go crazy... crazy buying them. LOL. But I understand that these are limited editions, just wish more Obi Wans were made.

Maybe they can go back and make more Doom PF's as well.... that would sure make them some money. I'm just glad I got my Obi Mythos on day one and didn't have to worry about it. The darn thing was up for order for 6 months and they still couldn't sell all 2000 at that time. Now once its in hand everyone wants one... oh well.

Me too. Overall, I think this line did a lot better than SS expected it to do and now collectors who missed out are upset because 4 of the 5 statues that were maid were very popular characters and 3 of those 4 were OT and centerpieces to the SW galaxy.
I started to collect June 2014. I stumbled across it July 2014. I would have gladly bought it if it were available.
Sad that I get grouped in to the collectors "who knew about it but did not buy it."
I apologize if I don't want to spend $900 on a statue.
Well, at least now I know the unwritten rule of this site is not to ask for SSC to produce more of a figure...

It's "Limited Edition" for a reason. Creating more to meet demand would be a bit of a cop out, even if that s what most other companies would do, Collecting is difficult at times because if you've only got so much money, you can either shell out 400$ now, or 900$+ later
I would have gladly paid $400 for it, problem is when I found out it existed it was wait-listed, so kind of hard for me to shell out $400 now since it is gone. The thing is awesome. Would have been a first day pre order. Im more mad at myself that I started collecting late and missed out on it than I am that no more are being made.

I know man, it's sucks. This piece was what started me on this hobby a year and a half ago, I know how you feel, I´ve had a rough time getting this piece ,SS won't ship to my country, my LCS let me down when it first came out and then when I thought I got this secured the **** about european retailers happened...sigh. I already had the rest of the mythos line, I even got in the first batch of the custom lightsaber that MYC made for this baby...but the damn statue seemed to slip from my grasp every time.
Being able to get Obi at last was one of my greatest "collector moments", I'm waitlisted with a june 3 date so if it ever converts (I really believe it won't though) I'll gladly sell it you at retail price. Either way, keep an eye at the BST part of the forums and FB groups, maybe you'll find one at a price that you find reasonable.

That's just the way collecting goes sometimes. There's always a piece you'll want that isn't available and you have to ask yourself how badly you want it. Some will pay the elevated price and some will not. That decision is up to you.
I will probably crack under pressure and buy, lol. Gonna wait till December though and hope when SSC start shipping out the rest, some people will end up putting them on the secondary markets. Hopefully one pops up before then for a decent price.

I wasn't real stoked on the piece when it was first announced (love SW, but not a statue guy) but after I saw it in person I changed my mind. Luckily stars aligned soon after and it went back up for order
And in the meantime I'm working on one as well... so I'm curious if I can improve the paint, or if it will fail and I'll just stick with the order I placed when the ended up back in stock
I think a conversion is pretty unlikely for two reasons. 1) any order placed has a NRD of $35, so people are less likely to cancel. And 2) it's still selling for way above retail so even if someone has to tighten their belt a bit to afford the statue they easily make a few hundred or even double their money with a flip.
I suspect when the last 800 ship out we'll see a flood on eBay and that will likely drop the price... but those will also dry up and then I expect he'll return to grail status.
Yep, you can't now about every piece coming... and sometimes you plan to order something and then realize it's too late.

Yep, what they all said... Once the sickness grabs you (and it does grab you), you begin to do two things.
1: you get interested in new stuff that's coming. There will always be new stuff that looks good and you want.
And 2: you get really interested in old stuff. I think that second one is more exciting and fun, but it's also usually more expensive... Just paid close to Legend money for a Limited efx Vader lid For other old pieces that I'm not dying to have I have to just remind myself that my collection doesn't need to include everything cool in it 
Some of the fun is in the composition of my selected pieces, as opposed to just accumulation. Good luck whether you search for this one or not!

There's less that 800 left, there's people that reported having Obi's with numbers as high as 1700's almost 1800, If I remember well mine's around the 1500's So whatever's left isn't much, probably a couple hundred.
