Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

This is very bad timing for HT to release this news…..what are they going to do with all the Tonto figures now!!!! I think there are five sold so far.
:lol Sideshow will be surprise packing them into DX Solo boxes this time next year

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

This is so conflicting .... I don't know if I should just give up in Star Wars 1:6 or what... SS had done a great job in my opinion. Hot toys getting the license worries me because I know the days of under $200 is long gone. I hope SS just continues to release figures. I'll stay loyal. But if Hot Toys shows anything for Jabba, it's all over.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

Can somebody catch me up on the history of SW and HT?
I know they had a DX Luke at one point, yes?

Did they lose the property at some point?

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

They took a hiatus to concentrate on Marvel - that's it. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

This could be great, but if the crazy price creep continues, it's going to be hard to swallow. I've got most of the characters covered between on hand (and upcoming PO's) so they'd have knock it out of the park with quality and value for me to jump on board. Basically, no joker bank robber 2.0 deals.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

No offense to their fans or anything but I've never seen a SSC figure that I liked that much.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

Ok.. maybe not junk. :lol

A door stop? :huh
Bah! In-hand it's very impressive. Your hatred has blinded you, my friend.

That said, I'm sure HT's Vader would be excellent, too, so it'd be a must buy for me. As would Boba Fett (man, if they got his helmet and armour right, it'd make my year). Thing I'm hoping most for, though, is that they exploit the license like they have Iron Man. I don't want to be waiting a year or 18 months between releases.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

Well based on the prototypes for Hoth Luke and Han, yes, I'd say they're doing guys justice right now. Of course that could all change when final production figures are revealed.
That's just it though - you're talking about the cart before you've bought a horse. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

How long before we see an actual figure from this announcement?
How long has it been since they announced they had the BTTF license?
We're just seeing the Marty figure now after what....3 years?

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

So HT just didn't have a 2 hour commercial to pimp their wares and they put SW on the back burner until a movie showed up?

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

I think HT might need to reconsider lowering their prices moving forward as I can see many collectors sacrificing one figure for another just so they can afford them. Example I might not pick up the BD T-800 now because I will need those funds for the next HT SW release. It will be very hard to keep up with HT SW when figures prices are at $250+ per release. SW is huge with so many characters that people would love to own!!

I bet they've been working since the movie was announced and the movie folks had definite outfits laid down.
Sketches.
I bet we'll see something by the end of next year.

Back to the Future isn't a traditional action figure market, and no movie is coming.

i will drop all lines but this and Batman! THANK YOU HT!

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Scale Figures from Episode I - VII Announcemen

I just want a solid Boba Fett. Finally.

Nah.. I can acknowledge it's positives. Certain details are ok, only it's just the important stuff they completely ****ed up in the process. :lol

Boba Fett - man, don't we ever need him fixed. The new Jango's got issues too - same helmet sculpt, tiny arms, the Herman Munster forehead on the Morrison portrait - & folks repeatedly applaud SSC. :lol

Well wait and see if any of the new HT Star Wars figures break apart at the joints like the new Iron Man figure.
Wait and see if HT uses shoddy materials that break down like ED209.
Battery packs that leak for LED light sabers.
Now that'll be funny!
