I think everyone of us should post on their facebook page.

I was so free to write something.

I think we should all use the same text over and over again so it looks massive on their page.

How do you think about zhis text?
I am sorry, I am no native english speaker but I hope the text conveys what I mean:

"These are actual pictures of my 1 1/2 months old MMS204 ED209 figure.

As with the old figure, the dome starts to deteriorate.
Only this time already after one and a half months rather than after a year or so.
And as a nice bonus, also do the rubber sleeves on the arms and legs.

You guys from Hot Toys NEVER answered your fans questions in the past year what material would be used for the new dome.

This, the fact that the old figures had the exact same problems years ago and your unwillingness to communicate with us can only be described as a hard slap in the face of your customers as apparently you do not care for us, having defective figures only one to three months after release.

Some of us brought this new old topic up to you in a very kind manner, including me.
We asked for a real and constructive communication between you and us fans/collectors who are supporting your company for years, even if there were debacles like the DX02
(where you publicly denied the problems most of the customers had and secretly changed the suits material without compensating early adopters.).

Your current communication with us is not appreciative and leaves a lot to be desired.

One answer to certain people is:

"Our production team is aware of the problem already and is investigating into the issue. We’re waiting for an update from them.

In the meantime, may you refer the people who have contacted you to send an email to our Customer Service department ([email protected] ) with photos of the affected areas and the sales receipt if they haven’t done so already.

Thank you for your help"

The answer to the majority of customers is this though:

"Thanks for your information!
However, after checking, xxx is not our official retailer.
Please kindly understand that after-sales service will only be provided for first-hand purchase via official channels.
After-sales service is not applicable for purchase on online auction sites (e.g. eBay, Yahoo) and unofficial channels.
For the next time, we highly recommend that can purchase from our official dealer that after-sales service can be guaranteed
We are sorry that replacement cannot be offered for your case.

If your collectible figure is purchased from xxx, we recommend that you can contact them directly and they will provide you with after-sales service according to their terms and conditions."

Hot Toys!
We don't want echanged figures!
We're fans of the RoboCop franchise and love the characters, that's why we bought this figure.

We want to get to a satisfying solution TOGETHER with you!
It would be sufficent if there would be the possibility to get durable rubber, or even better hard plastic domes and new, durable rubber sleeves for the joints on the ED209 figure.

Hot Toys.
Now is the time to react and start to help us.

Don't risk more of the collectors to return their figures.
Don't risk more of us cancelling per orders of upcoming figures.
Don't risk your reputation amongst us."

And everyone should add actual pics of their figure as well.

What do you think?

If everyone of us posts this every day without an answer from them in their page probably they're gonna react in some, hopefully positive way.

Totally rocks, Chris.
Maybe a bit harsher, cause it sounds rather sad...then angry and a nod to the money spent would be great.
Cause that's no 20 buck toy, we through thousands of dollars in their throats!!!

If we are too harsh, they'll not take us seriously!

If we appear angry, they'll not listen.

I think this is the tone I think we'll need.
The only thing is EVERYONE of us should participate.
If only two or three guys post it on FB it won't do us any good.

So are you guys in?

I thnk the text i too long people wont take the Time to read that.

Endo, im in the same boat as you im in Europe too and didnt bought from an official reseller, there is none and hot toys know it.
For now they are playing that card, and frankly for now even if they accept our request what Will they do?
Ask us to ship back and get a replacement? No use.
They need to aknowledge the problem then they Will find a solution.
Our Best shot is to inform sideshow buyers and potential buyers.
Make some noise, not attack ht its useless.
Just by making everyone know about the problem Will help a lot.

And because of that we gotta post that text an their page to make some noise.

In the end it doesn't matter if they read it, it's about mass and it looks like a lot and if a lot of people post that they'll probably react, at least their PR guys.

What would you suggest to post then??? :(

I'll check on that...shorten the text later.
If someone does it before me, then so be it.
Olbert, you got a good shortened version in mind?
Didn't know you're from europe. Where you're from exactly?

Im from France mate.
I Will set up a facebook page soon.
What would be cool is to have more and more pictures.
Scary pics that shows the problem in détails.
As for the text to me it should basically say :

The rubber is rotting
Sideshow buyers can get refunds and should do it now
Potential buyers should hold off for now
Other channels buyers are for now left to themselves.
Hot toys must investigate and find a solution.
Collectors who own the figure must Check it take pictures if it rots and send them to hot toys to inform them

Gents, if you look at your ED and think "happy, happy, joy, joy....he's fine" think again.
I used a macro lens to capture these, mine looked fine too.

But you can see the start of the breakup on the dome and rubber joints..

(please feel free to repost wherever you feel the need to)

Is there any spray that can be used to seal/protect the rubber or its FUBAR?

I am not expecting my toys to last forever but this is unacceptable....

Great stuff, man.
I´ll set up a thread over here in a about an hour, first shower and stuff.
:lol

I just checked mine.
2 new places with micro cracks emerged today and I guess they´ll become bigger and there´ll be more.
I made pics as far as possible and I´ll show the places more, before posting on HT´s page and for the text:

"These are actual pictures of my 1 month old MMS204 ED209 figure.

Only this time already after one month rather than after a year, or a few months.

Your current communication with us is not appreciative and leaves a lot to be desired and shows not that you thank us for the support of your company...which is for years now, some even a decades, or since you emerged.

We don't want exchanged figures!
We are fans of the RoboCop franchise and love the characters and that´s why we purchased it. If our seller (if not ordered with you, Toy Hunters, SS, or other authorized sellers) SHOULD refund us and you do not react then we´ll we sit here emptyhanded, although we were so happy that you bring is this otherwise excellent piece and YOU will sit on a bulk on defective figures and a broken reputationfor putting out figures that WILL, if your kind of rubber is incorporated into the design, deteriorate.
And the faith of your customers in you, also.
Is that what you want?

We want to get to a satisfying solution TOGETHER with you!
It would be sufficent if there would be the possibility to get durable rubber, or even better, hard plastic domes, or mesh and new, durable rubber sleeves for the joints on the ED209 figure (you used some kind of rubber on Hulk. No negative news on that so far, why not that?!)

As a producer of so called High End toys which you claim to bring us for OUR entertainment and joy, it is YOUR duty
to react now and show us HOW MUCH you thank us for our support.

Don't risk more of the collectors to return their figures.
Don't risk more of us cancelling pre-orders of upcoming figures.
Don't risk your reputation amongst us.

Hopefully and with still kind regards
XXX"

Not shortened, took Eisselmann´s work to 95%, I guess, but a bit more aggressive, I think...or not?
Just wanna check in with you guys, what you think...you too, Chris (Eisselmann).

Some of my cracks are already visible to the nacked eye and some needed to be pried open a bit.
May check with my lense in a few.

Thx for the advice, rory.

You must be flippin out Andrew are you? Having gone through this twice? I'm a Timcent purchaser also.
So I'm ****ed.

I'm fairly pissed off with Hot Toys at the minute. Not really sure what to do. I can't punish them in the way that I'd like and I can't punish them in the longer term by boycotting their stuff because lets face it, I'm still in for any T1/T2 figures they might make and as long as the larger black portion of Robocop isn't rubber I'm still in for him. So.......:dunno I'll be buying less, but I'll still be buying. And I was gonna be buying less anyway even before this.

nice pics rory, looks like its just a matter of time
timcent buyer here too, plastin/resin dome is my only hope

we will see what the Robo rubber looks like, if it resembles the ed rubber, im selling it sealed
ss has my nrd

I'm kind of the same to be honest.
It seems pretty pointless to waste more energy on them. If they use the same rubber on Robo as the last release then great, mine is still ok.
It's just as likely they will use something stupid though, even after this debacle.

You buy a lot from Timcent though, right? He should be able to make it right to his customers I think....

Doesn't he deal with HT directly?
