Apparently it is not some one off individual QC issue, the entire first batch are like this.
Numerous HK collectors are reporting issues with theirs.

If you apply enough force to the arm joint or move it a number of times, it will bunch up and break
The topic author said he moved his MK 42's arm less than 10 times before this happened.

Hot Toys and Secret Base are starting to delete all FB posts regarding arm breakage.

Damn Hot Toys is on a roll with their perfect QC lately!

I imagine this will be handled the way the TAS figure was handled. Probably escalate to there being a huge number of complaints in HK and the batch sent to the US will have it tweaked.

Gonna have to wait this one out now. Maybe the US shipments will be tweaked but I'm not taking the chance until I see evidence that these issues are being addressed. Maybe I'll pull the trigger on Harlock or Robin now.

Hmmm..looks like Hot Toys have gone to extraordinary lengths to replicate the Mk.42.. does it come with a 1/6 Bus?... :naughty

I'm going to leave mine on pre-order but closely monitor the situation.. seems odd that this figure has a problem, but the War Machine Mk2 and Iron Patriot didn't.

Times like these I'm happy HK gets them first. :rolleyes2

:exactly: I'm not sweating it.

In the off chance this issue is a (1) wide spread and (2) exists in the batches SSC gets, the comfort SSC's hassle free exchange policy will kick in.

I'll enjoy the crap out of these until then.

The War machine was fine... crazy to see such problems.

Glad I thought this suit was ugly as sin :D

How wide spread is this can you get a idea from the HK forums. Whatever did happen to the Spiderman figures that were defective did hot toys stop production and revamp the suit or did they simply keep going. its a no wonder that suit is still around people are scared they will get stuck with a defective suit. Its times like this that major retailers can put pressure on Hot Toys to fix their mess or else they face refunds and cancellations.

And now the ED 209 dome is going bad I which is not surprising since it made out of the same stuff they used years ago.

Looks to be the exact same joint that is on the other two armors. I wonder what makes this one problematic?

It is a different joint from the IP and WM MK II. Watch OMG's video and you can see how much more articulation is in that area than the other. Probably why it has been taking so long.

I was wondering if it was different from WM and IP. I have had my War Machine in an action pose since purchase and the arms are still solid on it.

Is it the same joint as the Iron Patriot ? Because we have yet to hear anything about that.

So what happens when all these people have problems can they go back to Hot Toys and get a refund I am not sure what their return policy is if you buy directly from them. ?

They don't give refunds
The HK collectors get one exchange within 2 weeks
Secret Base / Toy Hunters has always been dodgy with their in shop exchange
They usually give you other defective ones that has been returned by other people.
That's nothing new, has been like that for years.
We have gotten use to it.

My Chinese isn't too good but from what I can make out, it is pretty severe with MK42.
Even those who are gentle with theirs, the plastic part of the joint are starting to show deformation.

If we're vocal enough about it, HT will might revise the later batches.
Given HT's record, I'd say there's a 50/50 chance.
They did revise the MK6 chest piece, AMS's shoulder etc
Can't say the same about Monger's hip and ED209's dome though
So who knows
