Re: Predator Reboot...

They just need to go to these alien home worlds it will be something different

That's almost as obvious an idea as making a Terminator film about the future war in 2029. Apparently we can't have that.

Re: Predator Reboot...

I guess one of the very few downsides to having a Predator film taking place for more than 50% of the time on their home worlds, is the subtitling for the dialogue - & the tracheotomy sounding voices all the way through. :lol

..actually it'd be pretty creepy & cool at the same time I'd imagine..

Re: Predator Reboot...

Practical effects are a must! I'm looking forward to seeing new Predator designs, we'll wait and see how the actual movie turns out...

Re: Predator Reboot...

Everyone seems to be assuming it'll be the usual Predator creature. If it's a reboot, that won't necessarily be the case? Could be completely redesigned and new alien. Could be normal sized, might not have mandibles and dreads, might not have a biomask etc etc

Re: Predator Reboot...

No point calling it Predator if they go that route. Stan Winstons amazing design is the biggest factor in Predators continued fan base.

And yet no point calling it a 'reboot' if they're gonna use the same creature. Might aswell just be a prequel or a sequel.....which would be perfectly fine I might add

To which I again reply

What was wrong with the previous films that everything else about them, other than the creature design, needs rebooting? Nothing really. Not even Predators went particularly wrong IMO.

It doesn't need 'rebooting' we already established that by page 2 :lol

Well I'm not defending the culture of remakes and reboots we have these days. But a "Reboot" could have the exact same design to be fair. Or maybe a couple of tweaks which would be fine. I'll be happy if they just remain faithful to Stan Winstons design. I agree though, they may as well just call it Predator 3.

I was thinking the same thing, if they use the same creature which I'm sure they will there will be no difference between a "reboot" and sequel other than the possible inclusion of mentioning one of the past movies. If it wasn't for the very small mention in Predators that could have then technically been classed as a reboot.

This franchise can't get much worse either way although Shane Black looks like Stanley Kubrick in comparison to the Strause bros. Having starred in Predator and written movies in the same era like Lethal Weapon I've got more faith in him than I ever had in those two.
