Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Considering buying this and Zod.
Slightly concerned about something though..
The texture on the suit kind of seems like the kind of stuff that would crack and peel over time...
Any thoughts on this?:monkey3

I think I'd be more concerned about the webbings on HT's red & blue and black Spidey figures compared to the texture on the MOS suit. The materials HT used on this became more of a compound. Ever cracking happens I think it would be very very far from now :)

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I should be ashamed of myself. I have this beaut and I've barley unboxed him. All I've done so far is pop it open for a peek and he fell on the back burner.

Skimming around there seems to be a lot of talk about a mod and some QC issues. I have a lot of catching up to do...

Not much in terms of QC (at least for mine), although the flying stand can leave marks on the suit, so be mindful there. The mods are mainly adding Tony's cape (which is amazing), taking out a shoulder collar and bringing up the S crest. Believe it or not, the entire mod took me about 2 hours.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Thanks buddy! Yeah, this figure rocks!

Display him already if you could, man! IMO this figure is amazing unmodded as it is with those mods. As for QC issues, I think there are a few, but every now and then a different concern with each figure so no common issues on this I think.

I have to make time to dedicate to this tomorrow. I have to unleash this guy!

I didn't get a chance to dig thru the thread yet. I see everyone is doing that shoulder collar mod but what's the purpose?

I heard that there was a staining issue right out of the box. Something like black spots or smudging or something. Was that really common?

The collar as it comes is slightly inaccurate.
Not seriously.
Just sitting a little too high, and needs removed and put a bit lower.
If you can live with it, you are not going to care.
Here are comparison pics between modded and unmodded, with and without the Tony Meis cape:
Darker cape and lower collar is the modded one:

I'm even worse than that, I haven't even unboxed the shipper from the BBTS box and I've had it over a week now:lol

Great pics and info as always bro.

Yea. The mod is a sizable improvement and Tony cape is awesome. I'd get one with a wire along with a regular if he's doing those too

Is there a mod thread? Sorry for the late in the game questions that have probably been asked 1000 times but I've barley kept up with this thread

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I have an extra $20 Sideshow coupon that expires at the end of March. I won't be making any purchases this month. Posting here for any one wanting a reason for this awesome figure. I'll be responding only to the first PM for the code. Code cannot be combined with free shipping or reward points. Cheers.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Finally got this guy yesterday. Nothing that hasn't been said before but here's my immediate observations:

- This is an incredible figure with amazing shelf presence.
- The color and brightness of this against my admittedly drab Nolanverse collection provides a startling contrast.
- He is HUGE. He'll need his own shelf for sure....and this stand is gigantic!
- Despite the cool mods out there, I'm ok to leave him stock. Really this is one of Hot Toys most impressive efforts right out of the box.

Nothing wrong leaving it stock & your picture proves it. Congrats :clap

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

:lol:lol

I finally got my act together and freed this guy. Awesome, awesome figure. I have to spend some more time messing around with poses but he looks awesome in every way I tried so far. He reminds me of the original Spidey in the way that he's overall simple but has so much presence and looks awesome every which way. The sculpt really looks even better in hand than in all of these great pics floating around. Fantastic likeness and realism
