That's a really classy set up, man. I love the pictures on the wall, too; they accent the vehicle/figure really nicely. Plus, even though Joker never really interacted with the Batmobile, the Mime Joker looks really good with it. Aesthetically, the black and white look sort of matches the car.

Just make sure those pictures are secure on that wall. Don't want them falling on the batmobile.

Looks tons better! You should have tried "Plasti-Dip" spray paint if you felt guilty painting it. It's not permanent and peels right off.

You're right but honestly no regret! For me the stock color is really too bright and gives the feeling that the car is really massive and high. With darker rims the car gets back its gorgeous curves and seems more sweet and long. The proportions seems better. I feel that it is closer than the toynami like that.

Does anybody know which is officially the correct colour scheme for the rims in regards to our 1/6 89 Batmobile? Did Hot Toys get it wrong? seen a few of these black painted custom rims now and wondered which were correct?

There is no one correct color, it depends on which movie you're talking about. The rims (and the car itself) is painted differently between the two Burton films. In Batman 89 the rims appear a dark gunmetal, but in production photos where the car is well lit, they appear almost silver. In Batman Returns, the entire car including the rims, are painted a glossier black color. The only exception is the bat-center caps, which are silver.

In that case I am content with my stock-mobile. Looking at this beauty still keeps me up late.

One thing I didn't like was the rims , I will probably redo them darker at some point.

Personaly the right color in the mood of the movie is a dark bronze/gunmetal.
I tried to get closer of this:



As said previously, in Batman returns the rims are full black so they appear black but in 89 the rims are more dark gunmetal but appear dark, quite black in the entire film due to the fact that we often see the car at nightime.
On the photosets or promotional photos, they appear light gunmetal or silver due to the lights of the set or flash but for me the batmobile is more accurate, in the mood and beautiful with dark rims .

To answer to Roberto yes Hot Toys get wrong with the stock rims which are really too light but it's my personal opinion and maybe some of us are happy with the stock color and it's good.

I want to ask you who has the uber cool HT batmobile in hand, since mine's still otw, I am about to make a display for this beauty, and right now trying to measure the correct display size, can anyone help me with the right size of the distance between the bottom/lowest part of the wheels to the bumper? I want to make some kind of fence in the edges of the display so it wont slide.. thanks in advance!

It has brake locks so it won't roll already installed so don't think you will need to make a catch to keep it from rolling off your shelf.

Ah, thank you! that's awesome. However I will put it on top of my cabinet/shelf, because it will not fit inside, and just anticipating the worst things, I'd like to put a small fence on the edges of it, just to be super safe.. so it would be very helpful if I can get the exact measurements of the distance from the bumper to the ground..

Another option would be to make a set of chocks for the tires to keep it from rolling. Don't have mine out at the moment or I would get the specs for you.
