of course. his face is a corpse face, and he can make only two sounds - wheeze and scream - without any intonations. every time i see his attempts to pretend being a living human, it's frightening.
he might be a secret son of Steven Seagal and some reptilian alien.
his best role was in Equilibrium! nobody could show an emotionless creature better than he did.

Seriously? .. American hustle... And more so even better than that is the Fighter..man you are so wrong about CB...to each his own but calling him a terrible actor... Wow...

If that movie is bench mark of acting, directing, scripting and any other ...ting... Than there is a big problem...

Yeah but I imagine just like Walter Peck a lot of people would have thought that the Ghostbusters put on the 'show' just to benefit from it.

I'm pretty sure that actually was the official reason. I recall reading in some interview with Aykroyd a long, long time ago that basically the media spin was that the whole Gozer/Stay Puft was just a huge publicity stunt with "projectors" and stuff to con the citizens of New York. And since there hadn't been much paranormal activity since the Gozer event the guys had been relegated to being glorified clowns at children's birthday parties, leading more and more people to believe the whole thing had been a stunt.

I know Ghostbusters 2 gets a lot of flak for not living up to GB1, but I love both movies equally. Same with Terminator 1 and 2. Unlike, say, Predator 1 and 2 where, although I love the first movie, the overall pacing brings down repeat viewings, and I prefer the design of the city hunter.

Christian Bale should stick to playing english characters, that's my main problem with him. Approximately 5 out of 10 lines he just sounds like Lieutenant Commander Data from TNG and it's extremely distracting at times.

I think Bale is a great character actor, really embodies the roles he takes on like in the Fighter and American Psycho. Reminds me of Keaton in that respect hence why I think they both made really good "batmen"

Arnold I like for almost the opposite reasons, you are basically getting Arnold Schwarzenegger no matter what character he's playing but it doesn't matter as he has a natural charisma and charm that just makes him entertaining and watchable. His career from the late 90's onwards I don't really care for at all but T1 + T2, Total Recall, Running Man, Predator, Conan the Barbarian, True Lies etc I could watch again and again just for his prescence.

So actually on topic, I've given in and accepted that I'm probably going to want to have both looks for this fig, considering how "reasonably" priced he is would it be better to buy two and sell the extra parts rather than try and pick up what I needed after release? If they do end up making a unique body for him and not cheap out on a ttm20, I imagine the aftermarket price will be a huge chunk of change just for that.

Arnold has always been Arnold... and I always have been ok with that. Take the usual Arnold and put him into new situations.... making pure entertainment haha. The formula never gets old!

It doesn't have to be that limiting. Look at a great actor like Gene Hackman, I would say that in 90% of all his roles he plays the exact same character - very likely close to being himself - and it works perfectly.

Actually, it works in our favour, being from the UK.

They may be up for slightly more but because of the exchange rate and the free shipping a lot of the Chinese sellers offer, it comes in pretty cheap actually.

I got all the DX13 parts minus the stand for just over £100, for example. This was when the figure had been released in HK and SS i think, still miles away from UK stockists getting them and not really expensive, considering i paid £230 retail.

Although i think you could get rid of the extra bits just as easily so either way works.

Thanks for that info. :hi5:

Yep it sounded the most logical reason as to why the Ghostbusters would be so heavenly shunned and bombed out of the glory they should have received post the original GB movie. Although not a patch on the original movie I do also like the second movie as well.

On the subject of Arnold, I would say that his best role overall was as Dutch in Predator although he was wonderful as the Terminator (T1 & T2). I always regarded Arnold as the Hulk Hogan of the movie world. There are/is a lot of better people that do the job better (acting or wrestling) but they both had a lot of screen presence and oozed charisma on-screen and off and that you sat up and noticed. Also put their name into a movie (Arnold) or wrestling event (Hogan) and that show would instantly receive a lot more mainstream coverage and receive far more attention than it would with a 'better' suited actor/wrestler.

Also they both were 'bad boys' in their personal lives as well. Put that in your pipe and smoke it a-dev. :wink1: :rotfl

Gotta say, people start losing credibility when they use Hulk Hogan or the 'reality' of Ghostbusters in a Terminator thread.

Just for the record, I've never liked Christian Bale. His Batman will lose credibility in time. That said, I think he did a great job in The Fighter and American Hustle, though I hate to admit that.

Why?

Both in my opinion are household names in their field but are widely regarded as not being the best at what they do but yet made themselves a shed load of money and made a lot of people very rich.

Well obviously wrestling and Ghostbusters fake, while Terminators are real.

If Terminator is real, then how come I don't look like this?
