Issues happen with most collectible manufacturers. The difference is a lot of these issues used to be weeded out by lical comic shops, I used to manage one, for every 10 statues we inspected we usually had 2 breaks or issues. The problem with breaks really stems from the fact that artists who sculpt these pieces aren't concerned with shipment, and honestly if the were you'd see alot more boring sculpts. The shipping issue with Batman is mainly the ears and cape, unless they bubble wrapped them its nearly impossible to get them to all ship perfect. The other issues are from the manufacturing plant, and anything that is manufactured theres going to be mistakes, happens with everything from incorrect threading on screws, to improper gas tanks being put on cars, ask jeep about their recent recall. Even comics occassionally have issues with shipping ir printing. The thing is collectors are a demanding bunch, the want perfection or as clise to it as possible. If you bought a $400 bike and happened to notice a slight scuff on the underside of the frame you'd probably just let it go. Not going to happen with a statue.

Also the volume of shipping over the last 10 years has skyrocketed, with online shopping. So delivery people are probably more callous when handling large volumes. If Bat had come around Xmas time, there would probably be even more issues.

Agreed, guy I work with bought ceramic cooking pot off amazon just before christmas. He happened to be home when the Ups guy came to deliver. He said he heard the box hit his front door because the guy just threw the box. Needless to say he couldn't use the pot.

I would rather my batman have a scuffed hand or foot than a giant smear across his chin. Although I guess that could be seen as a battle scar.

I'm the same way. I let most imperfections slide so long as they are not on the face. Of course, I will always ask what could be done when something is very noticeable, but only screws up on the face are truly unacceptable to me so long as nothing is actually broken.

So if I decide to keep my replacement body and decide to try and sand down the peg and it works I still have the problem that I prefer the original body even though it has a broken arm.... I think I can fix the am but if I ever decide to resell I have to note the broken arm.

Question is... Has anyone ever paid SSC for a part they decided not to destroy. Like a head or something. Do they charge you the whole price or part of a price?? Just wondering. the replacement body is good overall but it does have some extra resin on his chest that gives him a misplaced nipple. Not bad but just not as good as my other body that besides the broken arm (that is still attached because it did not completely break) it is pretty much perfect.

Mine came today.... And though I haven't had time to look him over super closely he looks AMAZING. I LOVE THIS STATUE.... IMHO I have ABSOLUTELY NO complaints. I know guys don't like the pits and the paint is to dark, BUT I have ABSOLUTELY no complaints. I now have my TWO FAVORITE characters of ALL TIME, and I couldn't be happier. Honestly folks I am OVER THE MOON!!!!!!! Folks honestly it has been an AMAZING time here. I wil get pics up later today or tomorrow.... GOD he looks amazing.

As for the portraits, well they are BOTH AMAZING. I have waffled back and forth on both the portraits over the months, but honestly I can't choose... So luckily I don't have to and will keep switching them out

P.S. To ALL of those getting the Regular you will not be disappointed. I currently have him displayed with the Reg hand just for the heck of it, and he still looks AWESOME!!!

Can't wait to see the big Supes standing next to him now! did you have any balance issues with him? If so a couple rubber feet under the base worked wonders for me.

Congrats Spidey, I'm so happy for you that it all worked out and you were able to get him! I love him too, aside from the pits, he is sooooooooo close to perfection. I have a couple of shims under the oneside right now, but I will be getting some rubber feet for the base very soon.

After some closer inspectin I have noticed some paint scrapes on the cape.... I will take pictures tomorrow and call SSC. It doesn't hurt to see if there will be a replacement available down the line.

I have a couple of shims under the oneside right now, but I will be getting some rubber feet for the base very soon.

I watched the FedEx guy toss a box containing a statue to my porch from about 10 feet away, went out and confronted him and his response was if its broken call the company and get a refund. So I called FedEx and filed a complaint and the next time FedEx came it was a different driver. Never saw that guy again.
