Looking at all those pics and reading size/scale arguments, i'm pretty happy with my order. Now, if Sideshow would have gone with the older "pointy" saber blade style, i would have been delighted. This new "straight" design just looks terrible.

I prefer the older look as well, but it's doubtful in my case that I'll ever display a 'lit' clear plastic blade sabre. Just so, so far away from what it's trying to represent.

I would have liked a thicker pointy style like the artwork above.
The lightsabres were definitely a case of if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
This pic is great. They both have bent legs and are leaning in and are the same scale as the earlier HT Luke and SS Vader pic. Given this is the pose I'll be going for (albeit for ESB) I see no need for any body mods/swap.
I just wish I could afford a second Vader for when SS finishes out the rest of the bounty hunters.

Not sure why Sideshow opted to change the lit lightsaber design or when. Haven't bought a figure with a lightsaber in a long time, but that's one of the only real detriments I see. I don't usually go for the lit sabers in display options anyway.
When Sideshow first started these figures, didn't they make some comment about how their lightsabers wouldn't look like the typical thick "jolly rancher" style sabers?

I remember when they hit my Secondary school in the mid to late nineties everyone went nuts for them and then they strangely disappeared.
Someone told me about 10 years ago that you could order them online but I never took it further.

Yes, seems like the correct height proportions..
With all the hate for the smaller Medicoms I just can't understand why (almost) everybody here wants a figure that makes all their precious sideshow figures look like the dreaded medis in comparison.
It's like it was Karl Malone that wore the suit in the movie.

Cause I'd prefer an oversized vader standing next to Luke, rather than medis teen cosplayer vader
