I think a lot of people have also just got into this mindset that all businesses are evil sociopathic enterprises with no interest in anything other than making as much money as possible… which is generally true of corporations but often untrue of privately owned businesses.

It still kills me when people say that HT is only in this for the money. To me it's clear that they really take pride in and care about the products they put out.

I wouldn't say they don't take pride in their work, I'd just say they usually let certain details slip their mind when it comes to the likeness of non-human characters. They've more than made up for that with this release though. Hopefully this isn't a one-off, as I could see it being, since Elder is such a treasured character and all.

...for the first time with predators.
hopefully not the last, of course, but - the first.

The first in the new-style preds of theirs. The new-style where they've finally got the tools and talent to make perfect Preds but until now have fallen short.

WTF? Since when do HT show updated prototype pics a week later? This is bizarre.

This is actually tempting now. (Though P. I'll still get you those dogtags)

My guess is probably because it was all stuff easily updated. They didn't need to update any clothing or the body.

i've bought 3 dog tags on ebay, i just thought to make the Grayback even more badass with 2 additional, but if you feel you need them for yourself now, it's OK :)
remembering that detail now i love the character details once again: ancient japanese sword, XVIII century musket, timeless african head ornaments and XX century military dog tags. the guy was really visiting for a long time and travelled a lot.

I dont get what you are going to do with those dog tags. :dunno

you should visit the thread more often :D

a fellow member from another board (i don't know if he has a profile here so cannot name him) just posted a detail that i have never seen being mentioned:

those are clearly dog tags. it's difficult to make a totally visible screenshot, but when the predator goes away, they swing and blink.
looks like at least two pairs of them. one of the tags has a huge hole in it.
i admire the eagle eye of a person who saw them :horror

i think that for those who want their Grayback to have more items should get two pairs of them.
if somebody finds cool tags (i see only GI Joe for now), please share the link.

later it was revealed that Moguchiy H, V-Raptor and probably RIDDICK knew about that already. but as they didn't tell anybody, Marut was the first one i heard from about the dog tags )

i've purchased 3 dogtags for this new Grayback as i see 3 of them there. a-dev was selling 2 more and i decided to add them if he was still willing to sell and could find them )

Ok, 1/6 dog tags.

I was thinking about real size ones and what were you going to make with them!!!!

Thanks

Damn them anyway. I was so sure I was done with Predator. I'll still sell what I've been trying to sell but if they're gonna start making accurate Predators I may get one or two 'representative' figures. Grayback here and a P1 if it turns out good. I doubt we'll see another new city hunter.

Hot Toys is listening and has made some great changes for the better of accuracy and at the behest of us collectors :yess:

Keep convincing yourself with such nonsense.
Money and sales are the only two simple things that worry big manufacturers (and licensors).

They though "buyers didn't care much before so there's no point to change things" while asking same price for a barebone set.
Their marketers failed big time so after low lvl of POs they were forced to listen to those 24% of collectors who care/passionate about the subject.

Yeah case in point of what I'm talking about.

This makes the City Hunter even more of a shame IMO. I said I might get Grayback and P1 as representatives of the franchise for my 1:6 collection but a decent City Hunter with his particular design would have been nice too. No way I'm touching the last one they did though.

well, his body fit a repainted old P2 head very well, and another body with TSANG headsculpt worked for a Gort :lol
now almost all my predators have unique headsculpt except for Boar and Classic using the same face.
