Is this why no Thor 2 review from you.

No, I actually really enjoyed Thor 2. I just never really commented on it. LOVED the "Captain America" cameo.

All the Marvel films have been pretty damn good in my opinion. The only one that I felt "meh" about was Iron Man 2. Not because it was awful, it wasn't. It was just a little dull with all the crap they threw in. It had great concepts and scenes, Stark was great like he always is, but it was like they didn't know where they were going with it.

While I still prefer the emotional beats from the first Thor, number two was also a good movie.

Still, the remote suit isn't "doing the saving". He's clearly shown controlling it. He's calming the flight staff, talking them through it. He's essentially flying the suit.

It's not like he put it on autopilot and was out drinking with Rhodey. He was inside the boat, in the dark, concentrating at the mission at hand. Or did we just forget all the numerous POV shots? HE saved all those people even if he wasn't inside the suit. It also makes perfect sense too considering that Savin is on board with his extremis abilities AND the Iron Patriot suit. So not only could he tear through Mark 47 and tear Tony out of it, he has his armor and weapons too.

There wasn't a casualty. Stark saved the people that were flying off board and the stunt itself is impressive. Was the truck incident necessary, maybe not, but he still saved the people himself.

Of course the guy who loves Keaton's remote detonation of the Joker's chemical plant will defend Stark doing the same thing. ;)

I didn't say he didn't save everyone. I said he did it from a place of absolute safety. No stakes = no drama. No badassedness, etc.

It's weird how nobody really criticizes that scene and it retains this dramatic feel while everyone craps on Iron Man 3. I don't get it. I guess people are more forgiving of the Batmobile than the Mark 42 suit. That doesn't seem fair.

Maybe it's just Batman's demeanor.

Ahh, but there are stakes. The Air Force one staff can die. On everyone's first viewing, they don't know that Stark isn't in the suit, so it still has drama. It gives audiences that, PLUS the surprise of "oh, he ain't in the suit" which is played up in the beginning of the film. Love it or hate it, nobody here can say that Iron Man 3 wasn't packed with interesting twists and turns. It wasn't predictable like other superhero comic book films.

Stark will be back in the suit, that's a certainty. We've spent three whole films prior to this one with Stark kicking *** and being badass in the suit. How come when he's out of it ONE time it's met with such vitriol hate? It makes no sense to me.

You were poorly executed.

PTSD was fine and appropriate after the events of the Avengers.

wormhole

:rotfl

Not wut I meant.

Having him suffer from PTSD was a good story idea for a character journey.

The way they went about it fell flat to me.

If you're going to do PTSD, then do PTSD.

Not a half baked version of it with some little kid.

Using little kids to trigger the PTSD didn't make sense.

Now if Stark's kids had died during the invasion then I could see his panic attacks and depression being triggerd by children.

It wasn't the kids, it was the drawing of him going up into the wormhole (which he thought was a point of no return) and the kid saying "wormhole".

It's not like as soon as he saw the kids he was freaking out.

Ok fine,

Who freaks out over an interdimensional wormhole anyways, lame. :rotfl

Blame Avengers. He looks like he's about to **** his pants when he's up there, past the atmosphere seeing the Chitauri army.

It doesn't help that the kid whispers "wormhole" into his ear like a little demon either. I'm surprised he didn't have a crude crayon drawing of Iron Man being decapitated by a space monster. :lol
