OK OK OK! I know it's not over yet. But i think we've gotten far enough along to be able to decide a winner.

For me, both are great shows worthy of your time. (This does not happen a lot, lots of shyyty shows movies and TV)

What do you think? Is there a clear winner? Is it too hard to call? Can't choose?

What say you?

(votes are public) Sopranos gets the nod from me.

Not to say it's the better show, but I enjoy BB more because for me the characters are more complex and nuanced than most characters in the Sops. They are conflicted in ways that the mobsters aren't. Just about any one of the main characters in the Sops could've met their unpredicted and early demise (and a few of them did) and I wouldn't have cared.

Cool!

For BB, The only person i care about really is Walt. Jesse while interesting..Meh. Skylar, Hank, etc. Don't care as much.

But i think the question right now is who's gonna have the better ending. :)

Sopranos was an amazing groundbreaking show, however it wasn't as consistently as great as Breaking Bad has been and will be. It 's already apparent that the writers have a set idea and are not deviating to upset any fans, they are just writing an amazing story and giving the fans that have invested all their time and love into the show some real closure to the story. Also agree with what Lejuan said about the characters being more interesting and complex.

imo Sopranos went on way to long. HBO screwing around with the scheduling didn't help either imo.

I think we're too close to Breaking Bad to make fair comparisons. In general, ongoing/currently popular shows will win popularity contests with older, somewhat comparable shows. In 5 years or so, once the hype around Breaking Bad cools off a bit, we can more objectively assess it all I think.

Sopranos had a great first 3 seasons.after that it wasn't good at all,and possibly has the worst ending to any show ever!bb has been top notch every season, there not even close.sopranos wasn't even the best show on hbo,oz was better.

Both are masterworks, IMO, so shouldn't be pitted against one another. Breaking Bad is probably my favourite series of all time but I still wouldn't say it's "better" than Sopranos. Love both, basically.

Never saw Sopranos. Therefore, I have some serious credibility to make up. The end.

Worst ending? How so?

That's interesting, because I gave up caring for Walt a long time ago. Skylar is irritating, but she's a suburban housewife and loving mother who is having to keep her s **t together 'cause her one-time nerd of a husband has become a drug lord :lol. Hank I really like - an honest cop whose affection and unmitigated trust in family has now been turned on its head. Jesse is a tragic case, a decent kid at heart who has been made to pay a high price for being led astray by the only father figure he's ever known.

Saul, Gus, Mike, etc... in one way or another I really like their characters. And Badger and Skinny Pete are solid comic relief :lol

Even if it's not what's about to happen, it encompasses the entire six seasons worth of the character in a single scene. This is his life, every second of every day, until it finally happens. Great ending.

I voted Sopranos. I was still sympathetic to the final credits. I love Breaking Bad, but I haven't liked Walter in a long time.

That's odd, because I still find Walter to be one of the most compelling characters on television, and I still feel that he isn't too far gone. Then, too, that could say more about me.:lol

I'm not drawing any comparisons to The Sopranos, though, as I haven't seen much more than the first three episodes, and I'd like to watch it all the way through before I judge it against something else.

Who are you asking? I think WW is fascinating, yes. I thought Shane was fascinating in the Walking Dead. It wasn't enough.

I find Tony Soprano to be infinitely more contemptible than Walter or Shane. You know what makes a greatest tv show ever? The fact that with full knowledge of Tony's character, I was still routing for him in the end. I looked forward to every time someone was going down on his orders, and even more so if it was by his own hand. Tony's hits were the highlight of the series for me. It was like watching a great white shark hunt.
