I've had to move R2 along his base so to achieve this classic pose. At the moment I've for the droids displayed at a height so that the bases don't even come into view...

Looks good and congrats on the purchase!!!
If you need more inspiration, check out the final 3 scenes of each movie in the OT! :)

OK, true story...

Upon clicking the link, the page opens and the first thing it lets me read is a post by furystorm saying he is whacking off. HAHAHA!

I think I'll come back later when the thread cools down a bit. :rotfl

It gets raunchy in there. A hive of scum an villainy. You must be cautious!! :lol:lol

Guys, you know when you recieve a new piece and have that excited feeling...well it's always difficult to get carried away early on but after really scrutinising each piece up close and have some time to play around with them, I'd seriously say that these droids are up there with some of the best pieces in my collection and possibly in my top 3!!! I think what this piece has in its favour is that the characters are so recognisable by anyone and everyone and so far everyone that's seen them on display have commented on how awesome they look!!! It's times like these that makes me feel good about being a collector as this is what really relax's me after a day at the office. I can kick my shoes off, put the kids to bed and then sit back and enjoy my collection!

That's great Roberto to hear that you are so happy with your Droids.. I know that feeling you are talking about. Mine is always a little different.. I am excited to get my new item.. I am always a little disappointed when I open my new item because of all of the build up and then if it's a great piece, I fall in love about two days later and continue to admire the piece from there on out.

I am sure that the Droids will give me that feeling. As someone said These two ARE Star Wars!!

Congratulation on getting these two.. It's great to know that a fellow collector is so happy with a piece that we have all waited so long for.

Can't wait to get mine.

Hey Jaws, thanks for your kind words my friend...glad you can relate to what I was trying to explain. When you recieve your droids try not to look too much into the how R2 feels in your hand in regards to both weight and materials...once you have turned on his lights it will make you weak at the knees! It really is that good pal. Can't wait to hear more reviews and see more inhand pics over the next few days :)

Guys, can't say it enough...R2 is very disappointing inhand. Not so much through aesthetics as it looks perfect. But to handle, it's like a cheap toy and I emphasis the word cheap. This issue will rumble on once everyone recieves their own versions but as a double act the price we've paid is way too much. Due to R2 it should have been reduced by a further $100 in my opinion. 3PO is just amazing. Good weight, amazing chrome finish, quality articulation! Perfect 3PO collectable. Will have to do the lights a little later on tonight but thanks for sticking with me through the early pictures. Will have more later on as I'm sure there will also be more pics up from other members too! Thanks guys!

I don’t know why Sideshow doesn’t just fill these up with concrete to keep everyone happy :lol

i'm 20 min away from CVII, last one i went to was CIV, the rest have been in east coast, finally, it's back!!!! i hope it stays here! of course now that disney owns LFL, it's right next to Disneyland, those rats are clever!

Just opened mine and they look good. A couple stupid complaints. The pill batteries in Threepo's seem to be too large in diameter. If I push them in all the way, they do not touch one of the contacts.

Also when extending Artoo's third leg (heh, third leg). the bottom is not secured to the cylinder body. Must have not received enough glue. I'll have to check what works best with ABS before I use a CA glue.

I found the retraining bolts on the floor. They didn't put them in a bag and they fell through the openings in the box. Make sure to look for them as they can easily get lost.

They could have used a thicker mold of ABS for Artoos body. It's a bit flimsy when you extend the leg. Plus I would have liked the factory to fill in the mold lines between molded parts.

On the top of Threepio's head is the spike. On mine it's a bit crooked and it is not weathered like the rest of the gold parts. The factory must have missed it. I wonder how it shows on other's statue.

Don't use these photos to judge color. I took non-flash photos using my recessed lighting in the house with compact fluorescent bulbs. Not the best setup for accurate color.

Thank JD for the info. Does the spike on c3 really stick out in person. Is it something you can live with?
By stick out I mean the lack of weathering.

It's enough to bother me now that I notice it. I get like that. I'll probably fix it. I have some figure painting experience, so it won't be hard for me to fix it.
