It's too bad they didn't just let Devil send the base back and keep the statue figure since there wasn't anything wrong with that part.

I remember the base and body being one piece. The arms, head and bats were separate, but her legs are burind in the pile of skulls and tentacles.

Although, it was years ago and I never owned it again. Hmmm

Oh, you ended up sending it back to Sideshow for the refund then? I was going to suggest that Skiman can pull off quite a few fixes on polystone pieces to make things look like new as well if you're ever in a bind like that again. I really wish I had known that before I sold off my Carnotaurus maquette at a loss back in the day.

Passed up/ cancelled;

X-men vs Sentinels #1 exclusive with light up features
Doom PF exc.
Venom 1:1 scale bust - Mike Hill (had 2 ordered)
Ms Marvel PF exc.
Hulk PF 1st one
Hulk vs Spider-Man Exc.
Joker PF exc.
Iron Man 2 comiquette

I ordered and wish I hadn't;
faux bronze yoda vs dooku
Sideshow Star Wars 1/6 scale

Regretted buying hot toys... sold them all for pfs. Doesn't matter how nice the face is on a hot toy, it always looks lame next to a pf of the same character.

Had all of these exclusive versions ordered and decided to cancel as I focused my collection:

Dr. Doom PF
Captain America PF
Hulk PF
Hulk vs. Spidey (which to this day, I think is a brilliant piece)

but my biggest miss is taking a minute while I stared at the product page and decided to pass on the Grey Hulk PF. :slap

Looking back, I'm fine with it now as those wouldn't have fit in my collecting focus, but I'd have made some serious coin! Just hope they went to good collections is all. Hindsight is always 20/20 :dunno

Agreed to purchase a figure from a seller, seller suddenly decides to list it on auction and ask me to purchase it officially without making sure i got the message 1st. When i checked someone already bought the item. Good for the guy who bought it after i did all the talking. Guess some things are not meant to be.

Finding the SSC booth at SDCC 2012.... Never knew there were such amazing figures and statues. I had always thought McFarlane/NECA etc. were as good as it got.... Now I'm hooked and spending hundreds on each piece.

More of a vent for my wallet I guess... :D

I've sold loads of things. All my HT, SS & EB fig's & SS movie PF's but i havent yet regretted any of it. My only regret was trading my Joker PF but I've just bought a new one so now big deal there either :lol

My only big regret was collecting figures instead of Comic PF's. When I was collecting figures I would see PF's & CQ's which some I've ended up paying big for like the Spidey CQ, Classic CA & Thor PF's which at the time was going for retail or not much more. Still not owning the Venom & Carnage CQ sucks.

I don't have any regrets. If I passed or cancelled it, I didn't want it.

Yes, I 100% regret my decision.

And for a aftershock, your home theater system is now worth a fraction of what you paid. :wave

I just remember some time ago I passed on 2 items due to various factors: Gentle Giant Trinity on Ducati statue for $250, and Master Replicas AT-AT LE.

In both cases I had some other items coming: I had my real. Sterling Stormtrooepr blaster arriving the same time I could have gotten Trinity (so it is understandable), and long ago when I got my MR AT-AT SE (which by the way is my favorite of the 2 walkrs) wish I tried to find the funds for that one too, since I could have chosen any of the two (or both).

And for a aftershock, your home theater system is now worth a fraction of what you paid. :wave

Exactly. All these new electronic gadgets are the prime example of consumerism, today it is the best, in half year there re 10 better than this, and in a few years not even comparable to the new ones.

It really depends, if you bought those Panasonic, Sony, or even B&O system chances are they aren't gonna keep their values.

It's like buying a Swatch & a Rolex, or a Casio F-91W & a limited edition vintage G-Shock.

There's always this thing called mediocre.

Some gadgets does increase in price with time like Nokia 8850. Many people are willing to fork out few hundred just for a Refurbished unit.

I don't have any regrets. If I passed or cancelled it, I didn't want it.

When technology evolves, and it evolves faster than EVER in history, the same technology becomes obsolete no matter what limited edition it used to be. There might be some exceptions, but they are just exceptions. The idea is not to try "investing" in these gadgets, unless one of those rare and expensive exceptions.

Home System like Audiophile Speakers don't really evolve as fast as others. You can find some older speakers getting more expensive simply because manufacturers have moved on using new technology that people don't like sound of it and the discontinued ones become more valuable.

If you say TV, Bluray Players yes.

But again there's always exception like Nokia 8850.
