Personally I think it's $599 or more because it will be L/E. If it is L/E of 500 make it $699. I hope I'm wrong and it's less. Under $599 is totally acceptable for me and I hope ES is low 1000 or less

I have learned to be shocked by Weta's prices. I think less than 550 on this is a steal. It was enormous.

I think many still don't realize its size and how large this piece really is.

I can only speak for myself but I know it's a large piece. I also know Weta is aware approaching Baead-dur price would be an issue for most collectors. That's why I think that it won't be anymore than $550.

Barad-Dur was pretty expensive, surprisingly so but I'm still glad I got it.
One of Weta's top (if not THE top) environments and one that larger ones will be compared to here on out.
I hope Azog doesn't turn out to be that much, $500 max depending on size and ed #.... hopefully.

One of my favorite pieces from SDCC.

I'm also hoping for a price not over 500$. This could set the standard for future rider on steed prices and we want to keep them at bay. :lecture

Well is Azog comes in around 500 then this is consistent with Weta's statements that development costs are a large chunk of the final price. Barad-dur was labor intensive. Azog looks less so by a longshot given most of the piece is fur which is easy to sculpt compared to architectural details. Still it is a massive piece but at the same time provides an obvious centerpiece to a display of the dwarves.

If this is less than $599 be happy. Look at the size difference between this and any of the $249 pieces. This piece will be a heavy one guaranteed and has at least IMHO 4x or more the Polystone of any dwarf.

Azog was one of my faves from Comic-Con as well Pork. :rock

One of the reasons I think it will be less than Barad-dúr is the labor factor. There is a lot in Azog but to get those small details in Barad-dúr had to be harder I'd imagine.

I am very offended by the terms 599, or even worse, 699 and ask that they are modded to either 'free' or '399 Max' :lecture

I do NOT like the feeling of my wallet trying to rip through my pocket lining to try and hide in the nearest crevace brought on by this kind of talk

:wink1:

I'm sorry $599 for the statue plus $15.99 for the new wallet you gotta buy making the total $614 now...Will you be paying taxes on your new wallet purchase sir?:lecture:)

Hate to say it because I am not a huge fan of the character but this piece really does seem to tie together the dwarves and looks great with Thorin's pose (which never made much sense to me). I also love how they implied action in the pose but not cartoonish levels of it, the warg is essentially tearing rear and making a sharp turn towards an enemy.

Whatever floats your boat man. Check the phone book for specialists and ask your pharmacist for some creams or painkillers used for the specific areas you have in mind:sleep

In many ways, it's not so much size or amount of polystone an item has that is a large part of setting the price. It is as much how complex and involved the sculpt/paint and assembly of the item.
