that HS looks like a tonystark impersonator
I'd say that the head sculpt looks fine as a Tony Stark, it just doesn't quite look like RDJ.

Mind you, in sincnarf's pics, having him with the Mk.IV sunglasses makes him look better; you lose the off-ness of the eyes, and looks a bit more like RDJ.

Thanks! It's called Toys that Time Forgot...pretty cool place.

So the people posting pics in this thread that already have him, do they live overseas? Is that why they have theirs already?

(sorry if these are stupid/newb questions)

yes, most of us in Asia (Philippines in my case) are getting the figs around a week after the bloggers release their review pics online

the new headsculpt got something right, the shape and size of the head. the only thing i hate is the eyes...

is the neck joint a double ball joint? IE: can it move freely in the neck without the head attached.

nope, the neck has to be attached to the ball joint connected to the armor body for articulation

the neck bone's connected to the... ball joint.... the ball joint's connected to the.... armor plate....

:D

:lol

just to be clear, this is what im asking. can the neck move at this point or is it a stationary piece connected to the neck

You can bet that HT is very conscious of cutting costs wherever they can when producing these figures. The same goes for Sideshow or almost any company making figures and statues. The chances are far greater that they are using cheaper lower quality rubber on these figures vs. using high quality more expensive rubber. I don't know this for a fact but using reasoning and logic leads me to that conclusion. Maybe someone who has this figure in hand can comment on the rubber used on the joints and whether they think it will hold up over time.

Edit: I will add that I would be happy if my suspicions are wrong and HT is indeed using higher quality materials on these figures because that's what we all deserve with these price increases.

Well as I said from the start I do think almost every company will try to save a few bucks where they can but I still don't feel they really "cut corners" with this figure. We are paying more for this IM than we have in the past for others but you do get a lot of extra features/parts too. Whether or not the soft rubber holds up who knows just yet, but I feel/hope that since its IM, one of HT big money makers they built it right. Yes I too feel they didn't do the eyes or mouth right but that a development/concept design flaw, not a defect of the item like the soft rubber.

I see what you see man.

Suit is beautiful from the neck down. HT butchered the suit head to acheive more articulation.
I don't know why HT cannot make a ratchet like neck that can tilt up and back. Would have made a much better system and not show the gap.

That shot from the back of the Mark VII showing the ball and plastic connector looks terrible.:monkey4

Man, you would think HT would at least paint the bottom inside of the helmet red, that just looks terrible from the back.

They might not of due to materials. That's also a flash photo so you're seeing the underside of the helmet way better than you will under normal lighting.

It's differently proportioned. The Mark IV/VI design follows human anatomy rather than being more aeronautically inspired like the Mark II/III and VII.

It's no better from the side. It's just a bulbous head. I know HT meant well with the design, but its just really jacked up and I fear this figure is going to look really toyish from some angles. Between the head and the elbows, going to need some strategic posing.:(

Prometheus Engineer helmet like from the side. Ha!
