This fig has hit the ceiling, the appeal is if you collect the Avengers team. I can't imagine anybody outside of hard core Jeremy Renner fans saying, oh man I got to have a Avengers Hawkeye figure!

Once the Hulk has been released, this figure will loose alot of the appeal. By then people that need it have it for the team or the people that are carrying it around will drop it or trade it. It is hot because of necessity in the Avengers puzzle and it was made in low volume because of the figure's appeal. (or lack of appeal)

Dx01 and Dx02 were about $600-650 range in their peak. These figure's values suffer from improved, (less expensive at current pricing) versions.

Well... I got Black Widow. Then Captain America. Nick Fury is on his way. And I just decided... I needed Hawkeye. I don't even care that I don't love this costume. I just wanted the group. Sigh.

BUT... good news is I won him for a VERY reasonable price on Ebay thanks to a sensible Best Offer bid! Excited to eventually complete the team, now! Loki and IM were on pre-order from the start, and I do have a Hulk pre-order in. So much money... but so worth it...

Cause a craze for people to pre-order every Avenger in fear it may be short run, if not big deal we make just a low quantity and the hard core collectors snag it up. Win for Hot Toys either way increase pre-orders and create more buzz. Actually brilliant marketing.

Renner liked the character, just didn't care for them making him evil for most of the movie. He wasn't nearly as critical as some are making him out to be.

You give Hot Toys too much credit really. I think they figured this one wouldn't sell as well so they made less.

That might be wishful thinking on your part maybe. I don't see why people would dump this one because there's a new one, or because he's not in the new one. There's less of this one for one thing, because if Renner is in the new one and they make a figure, I'm betting they'll make more of the newer version. Plus, alot can happen in 2 years. That is, if it is 2 years with all the contract wars they're having.

I dont think he will be in Winter Soldier. Seems like they are focusing on Bucky and Black Widow? I looked at IMDB and I didnt see Renner.

It was either in one of the recent Animated Marvel Studio Blu Ray/DVD releases or in the Avengers Animated TV Series, but Captain America and Black Widow were an item. So if BW is returning in Winter Soldier I think she may be helping Cap with the cold.

You might not see Renner or Hawkeye in the next Avengers..which means this will be the only Hawkeye. The reason why the figure is so much is basic..they made a small amount..alot of the avengers were coming out for PO quickly..and people passed on the secondary figures...but like with most lines, now people who want them all regret it and want him..and he just isnt readily available. The fact he has gone up in price has made him even more desirable..even to people who never actually care about him. Blade is the same way. Plus they were both very well execuited figures.

I think that is when you will see a flood of this figure. The opportunity to collect preying on avengers completionists.

I don't know if comparing hawkeye to blade is a fair comparison.

Hawkeye is a 3rd team avenger at best. Blade was the focus of 3 movies and a leading character.

As you can see, it is easy to get more return from the Renner head sculpt, still playing the same person, but not in the same costume or even as he same Superhero.

I have him, pre-ordered all of the Avengers. He unfortunately is part of the Avengers team, and it doesn't look right without him for the dio I am going to setup. Thank goodness I only spent $140 for him.

Just because a figure is scarce doesn't intrinsically make it valuable as well. This figure standing alone is not worth over $400 bucks, period. Not worth over retail to me personally, but right now he is going for what it sells for. I have nothing against Jeremy Renner, he is a very good actor. Hawkeye as a superhero (especially as a Avenger) is just not my cup of tea. Hated him in West (Left) Coast Avengers too. LOL!

Everyone doesn't have to love everything man. Diversity is a good thing. Hawkeye was a terrible character in the movie, my opinion and probably shared by many people.

Lets rollcall Hawkeye in the movie:

1) Became Loki's ***** in the first 10 mins of the movie
2) Get's *** kicked by a girl. (I just love saying this one)
3) Flys the Avengers Jet right into Loki and gets it shot down.
4) Runs away from the fight to help a bus of people that are in the clear while the others are fighting.
5) Has Iron Man take him up to a secluded tall building away from the fight so he can be "the eyes in the sky"
6) Uses advanced 11th century technology as his "superpower". Really a bow and arrow? I respect archery, but this is more a skill than a superpower, no?

Whats not to love?

Listen and berate me now, 1 year from in the future this figure will be under $300 dollars and probably lower. I think Hawkeye lovers have the figure and Avengers completionists will finally have it by then.

I think that a guy that hits every single target, from whatever distance, without seeing, that's pretty much a superpower. It's not humanly possible to do the things he does with a bow and an arrow. Just like BW, both are, as Tony said, a couple of master assassins, trained since they were kids and they, somehow, got their skills so trained that it has become superhuman. That's what I think anyways
