I am with the others, if the customers don't approve it, then it doesn't matter what the actor says. I can't believe she wouldn't have approved a better product. Removing the chicken pox scar would not make anyone here unhappy, but this overall product clearly is.

No offense meant, but for someone who works with BC, this seems highly unprofessional.

You basically told us we don't know what we're talking about and should be happy with a product that doesn't have the quality we were promised and doesn't hold up with the 11th Doctor figure.

The problem is that it's not just a few who won't be going through with the purchase, it's a lot of people, look a Facebook...hardly anyone approves. BCS should be concerned if the "don't buy it if you don't like it" philosophy is utilized.

The point is that this happens a lot, especially around here. The very reason why the majority of manufacturers refuse to interact on such forums. Hero to zero in a heartbeat.

With each subsequent release there are always comments. Hot Toys Indiana Jones - slated, but still sold and once in hand guess what "well it actually looks a lot better than it did in photos". Hot Toys Thor and there were even negative comments for Hot Toys Luke Skywalker. The list goes on...

Now I am not saying that people should blindly accept a sub standard product, but trust me I have seen this figure in hand and photos really do not do it justice. I really think thee recent photographs were poorly lit and should really not have been posted. Hindsight is a wonderful thing as they say.

Yet toss in a different paint scheme to the face and people start claiming its an entirely different product as if its bait and switch. The face paint is merely 1 aspect of the figure.

How about taking an honest approach to the criticism instead of acting like a bunch of drama queens. Pin point the criticism. If its isolated to the sculpt or the hair, say so. Don't say "Everything is wrong" when its not.

And when the guy tells you that the ACTOR and their representation told them to lighten the skintone, either believe him or don't believe him. But telling him he should have made it that way anyway, disobeying the licensing process and risking themselves to lawsuits. Thats absurd.

I'm not convinced the unofficial response did anyone any favours. BCS have had nearly an entire day to formulate a considered response to the general reaction to the pictures. It would have been better to wait for that than go off half-cocked. It is what I was saying a while back (or perhaps in teh Sherlcok thread) about BCS's need to be proactive with its communications, not knee-jerk reactive. I know these guys care about their work and it must be extremely disheatening when it isn't received well, but that's business.

I have to tell you guys that I have had the pleasure of working a bit for Big Chief and of all the companies I have worked for they are one of, if not THE most professional and attention-ate to detail than any other company. I suspect that they have been given a crappy photographer for the latest pics and once more pics arrive you'll see that the factory productions are just as good as the proto

Words such as "nothing", "everything", "completely" etc are concrete statements that shouldn't be thrown around lightly.

I can pop Luke Skywalkers head onto this figure and it would still be 90% Amy Pond.

So yes, a green painted head or in this case a pale doll like face still doesn't qualify the entire figure for the inane "it looks nothing like it" posts.

If you want legitimate discussion about the issues, post legitimate criticisms, not inane hyperbole that is only meant for shock or insult.

I am a freelancer and work for whoever pays the bills.

And whilst I feel sure that there are some who do genuinely know what they are talking about, the majority frankly do not. The vast majority of members here have experience in purchasing, not manufacturing.

Again that does not mean that you should accept poor quality merchandise, but comments/suggestions that BC should make Daleks and more Doctors are not based on any knowledge of product costs. Many seem to think manufacturers can reduce the cost greatly by selling an increased quantity. Not the case at all.

These are largely made by hand, they are not simple action figures, injected out with limited paint ops. As such customers’ expectations are higher than ever and yet they complain about increased costs. The more complex and detailed these figures become, the higher the cost.

Not making excuses here for BC, as to be honest I am personally not mad on the final approved sculpt, but you cannot compare these to Hot Toys. Mainly because HT own their own factory, BC do not. Plus they have 12 years experience on BC.

They are working to get Amy right and they do understand the frustration that customers have been kept waiting. But the mob mentality of forums does not help with certain members stirring up trouble by urging others to cancel their orders or demand the refund of their deposits.

So why post a crappy photo for people who have been waiting a year to see this? It seems incredible. If it really is that good, all this could have been avoided by posting a proper photo of it. It honestly does beggar belief.
