If Rocksteady is in fact working on the prequel game it would make sense they couldn't have time for this. I'm going to assume the safe bet would be either WB Montreal or Burbank or both since they did the Wii-U port of Arkham City gave them a chance to play around with the engine and start work on a sequel.

If they are working on a prequel, why even bother making a sequel to AC? Just let them stay with the Arkham series. If they go prequel, they go prequel. No need to farm out a sequel to someone else

It's typical industry standard make as many squeals as you can until people don't want it anymore. With AC selling like 6 million units they may adopt the Call of Duty strategy two studios working on different titles so they can release them yearly.

It's typical industry standard make as many squeals as you can until people don't want it anymore. With AC selling like 6 million units they may adopt the Call of Duty strategy two studios working on different titles so they can release them yearly.

If the quality was there, that would be awesome.

Do any of you guys listen to Fatman on Batman? I'm an avid listener, but I've been a bit behind until a friend of mine on another forum told me about the Geoff Johns episode. Well, I'm listening to it, and, well, it seems that Rocksteady is making it. Johns and Kevin Smith start talking about DC video games, and Johns brings up the new Batman game which "he can talk a bit about since a Time Warner exec. revealed it." Anyway, he starts talking about how amazing it is and how what Rockste...then, he seems to catch himself and say "the developers."

To me that signifies that Rocksteady aren't making it. He said Rocksteady and then cut himself off. Why would he do that if they were the developers?

It doesn't seem like something they'd deliberately try and keep secret though. I dunno, it could go either way, but let's not get our hopes up.

Hopefully Rocksteady will have SOME role, maybe just overseeing it because it's their universe, and they wouldn't want anything that conflicts with established/to-be-established canon. Keep the core mechanics and keep Rocksteady giving it the okay and it could turn out pretty good.

Rocksteady pretty much sucks. I can't even fathom why they chose not to make Arkham 3, when the series has been such financial success for them.

Here's what he actually said (I went back and transcribed it for you):

Johns: "You should see the uh..."

Smith: "You're in the God spot."

Johns: "Well, the next Batman game is like..."

Smith: "Which one is that?"

Johns: "Ummm..."

Smith: "Is it another Arkham?"

Johns: "Yeah, the CEO of Time Warner announced it, so I can talk a little bit 'bout it, but the Rock, like they're just; it's just really good."

This is from the 37:21 mark to the 37:34 mark on the Fatman on Batman:Geoff Johns part 2 podcast. I misinterpreted his tone a little bit, and I don't think he was trying to keep it secret so much as he was just naturally conversing. Listen for yourself, though. I think it pretty much confirms it, after my in-depth analysis.
