New Tomb Raider game

Anyone read the Tomb Raider Beginnings comic? I can't find any reviews on it. Turns out it is a Best Buy exclusive. I can't believe Dark Horse won't release it later on. Maybe in actual comic size too. I don't want to go to eBay for it...

Why do people get a semi on for pc? I own a powerfull pc but i rarely play games on it. Sure the graphics are nice, but the experience doesn't change no matter what you play on. I've always played on consoles and will continue to do so. There is just something i enjoy and prefer about them.(besides im an achievement whore lol)

There is no problem with people prefering consoles. The differences about graphics are huge right now between the console versions and PC because they are end-of-life. A new cycle will begin again with the next generation.

hmmm...

so I actually started playing with the display options on my 360, and after changing the display reference levels to Expanded, I noticed a huge difference in the game's image quality. It basically looks just like the PS3 version now. The textures are sharp and contrast is very high, and the game doesnt look muddy.

It kind of makes me angry that I didn't change these settings years ago. I'm going to have to play a few older 360 games that didn't wow me and see if there's a jump in picture quality...

Unfortunately, the TressFx doesn't look always as good. And the ponytail looks most of time far better than the one here. And beside that, the framerate can choose for you

for PC users the patch came out today to fix some of the issues with nvidia cards.

Thanks god I dint see anything wrong with my game. it was a perfect experience for me.

Thanks for the great news on the Nvidia fix! I already got the 100% completion on the 360 and was waiting on the Nvidia fix. I got ot have this game on my Steam account for future plays since new consoles are coming out and likely the 360 is going back in storage. Feel bad that this game is digital only for PC. Feeling sad reading about Gamestop's dire future since I have some friends that need that paycheck there until they find a new job.

I really don't get it, and never have. Yeah Pc graphics are better but really does that matter?. you get just the same experience from playing on console as you would pc regardless of graphics. I mean how often are you looking at lara's hair with this tressfx? your more focused on the story and playing the game, not drooling over individual pieces of hair bouncing around lol.

its just one of those arguments that has always baffled me i guess. I see what your saying in terms of end of life. Pc will always be at the top of its game with constant upgrades and all that. While consoles are stuck with what they where made with. Honestly though we've seen consoles pushed to great limits with games that look great. I know its all about preference in the end. Still the Main thing with me and what i don't get is how excited and how much people cream themselves over PC graphics.

playing on pc with the 360 controller to me = playing a console game with much, much better graphics....is it necessary, no....is collecting statues and figures as we do in this forum necessary, no but we do it because we enjoy it.

I am new to gaming on PC and I'll say it is like the feeling you have when you get the new generation console....so it's the same feeling...to me.

I guess i just like the comfort of buying the console and that is that. No need to upgrade as much as the pc or in some cases can't play a certain game so i need to upgrade however rare that may be. I just have it and keep it till the new console in x amount of years. I respect peoples love for the graphics don't get me wrong but i really don't ''get it''. i don't need awesome crisp graphics to enjoy the game, the consoles graphics, which no one can say are crap are enough for me.


Back on topic. I really thought i was done with this game last night due to how a certain point played out, but i guess i have more to do this weekend.

Sure, great graphics don't make a good game (story/gameplay), and a boring game will stay that way.

But, when you have both, it makes the experience even more enjoyable. And yes, for TR, you spend some time looking at Lara and the environnements

Some of us actually do care and do stare at the graphics with joy lol
It's just one of those "pc gamer" things I guess.
Either that, or some of us love anything that is the new advanced next big thing. I'm always impressed with the push for new CGI in movies, making things look and feel more real. But I appreciate the effort and hardwork and art of movie and game making visually.

To me, the better the visuals, the more excited I get about the game and the more immersed I feel.

I also love new games to push my PC, as it's nice to see the efforts of the time and money spent to make my rig. So I want to see it pushed and the next pretty thing.

I got the disc version (UK), but you still have to download a "patch" of 2 GB. On the other side, it still saves you from downloading 9 GB...

Yeah sometimes the PC gets some really bad ports. Late ones too as if a bad port isn't bad enough...I'll look into the UK version. There are a few things I've been holding off picking up from Amazon UK.
