Well we've got 6 inch He-man figures and now Hasbro is making 6 inch SW figures after 35 years of 3.75 inch. I wonder if the writing on the wall is for Hasbro to finally conform GI Joe to this scale as well....

And this dude is pretty cool actually. Probably the best in the entire movie line up.

Our WalMart is packed with this crap, but no three pack Firefly and no Snake Eyes with SandRail, which are the two things I really wanted. :monkey2
Is that 3 pack a target exclusive, because the WalMart one blows hard.

I would love if they did Joes in 6" like the Star Wars black series. I cant say I would do much troop building but I would without a doubt buy all of my favorite characters. Especially if they made them in their classic uniforms like 25th anniversary did.

Not much interest in those from me, but I would love to see them. Unfortunately, I think the surge of GI Joe interest starting in '07 has really waned, so I'm not sure Hasbro would invest in such a line.

Read this the other day.. I've never heard a better description of GI JOE RAH.

It's About a Bunch a Brightly colored superhero military guys, teaming up with ninjas, A Real life Pro Wrestler, and a Real Life football player. They Fight a supervillian terrorist organizeation which is lead alternatively by a genetic compiste of earth's greatest historical figures in a hilarious snake-man costume, and a used-car salesman

And IMO, that's awesome.

A lot of that is true. . .except for the period that I most love, the superhero military guys weren't very brightly colored (in fact, I think that's one of the major issues leading to the downfall of the line). Like Larry Hama, I also have little interest in Serpentor or some of the other more fantastic elements of the later GI Joe, including Cobra La, the environmentalist angle, the space monsters, etc.

I think being a huge Frankenstein fan as a kid made me love Serpentor.

Cobra-La was a interesting concept but just wrong for GIJoe. It seemed like a idea for another line like Visionaries that was folded into GIJoe. Besides, why would a civilization built on crustaceans and vegetation name themselves after a repile?

I can understand why they did all the wacky stuff from 1990 and on as the market changed drastically and a straight up military line would not have lasted.

Examples of Early brightly colored Joes, not including ninja force, battleforce 2000, or outerspace.

Also, no cobras.

Shipwreck
Scarlet
Flash
Gung-ho
Ace
Blowtorch
Spirit
Cutter
Deep-Six
Airtight
Bazooka
Alpine
Quick-Kick
Barbecue
Lifeline
Wetsuit
Sci-fi
Cross Country
Lift Ticket
Chuckles
Crazy Legs
Fast Draw
Law and order
Psych-out
Sneak peak
Jinx
Lightfoot
Shockwave

and that's all 1982-1988

Even some of the earlyiest ones, like Grunt from 1983 had neon green Grenades.

So, yes, Brightly-colored superhero military guys, from the begenning :D
