Pass of the century for me...:yess:

:exactly:

Another Ultron this soon after the last :cuckoo: :dunno

Ultron isn't an A lister by any means, but I think SSC attempting to capitalize on the next big Marvel event coming soon Age of Ultron...seems like the only logical reason to release another Ultron statue so soon. Just my guess of course.

They didn't capitalise on Secret Invasion with a Super Skrull or Dark Reign with an Iron Patriot or Spider-Island with a Jackal

There was a wip pic of this Ultron on throne from a Sideshow marvel panel vid from SDCC a couple of years ago, cant find the pic now.

Still a huge pass for me though.

So is this the Classic Ultron? What about the Great Ultron?

What's the difference?

Great Ultron was the version when he was in space & fought the Guardians Of The Galaxy & other cosmic characters whilst classic is how he really looks when he's making the Avenger's life a living hell.

Classic:

No they didn't and forgive me if my guess came off as me saying that SSC ONLY puts out statues that sync up with current events but as much as Age of Ultron is being hyped as well as the event supposedly having a massive lasting impact on the Marvel Universe after it's release, it is the ONLY logical reason I can see for SSC putting out another Ultron statue so soon (regardless of if it's a different version...aka classic)

Great Ultron definitely looks more imposing, but it's because he's a newer incarnation.

Ultron is similar to Iron Man in the way he constantly changes his look. Every major story he's in, he changes his body. He was even a female for one fairly recent story.

I think because so many people here don't read the comics, they don't realize just how major Ultron is in the comic stories. To the characters, he's about the worst it gets.

I didn't care for the Great Ultron statue. The sculpt and paint bored me. This Ultron looks way more fun with the throne and Ant Man's helmet.

That's funny. I've been reading on and off since House of M, I missed Annihilation Conquest which i think he was in, other than that never seen him.

I read Punisher, Iron Fist, Nova, GotG, Amazing Spider-Man, Deadpool, Uncanny X-Men, X-Force, Annihilation, War of Kings, Realm of Kings, Civil War, Secret Invasion, Dark Reign, Emporer Vulcan, Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, IncREDible HULK.

No Ultron in any of those :dunno

He's been on the shelf for awhile now. Last I saw him was from that page Peedi has posted. It can't get any more major than Ultron for the Avengers (without dragging any cosmic beings into the fray). If you look for any villain that is mostly unique to the Avengers, Ultron would be one of those villains besides Kang.

If you look up one of Perez's run on Avengers, Ultron killed a whole nation.

Ultron is far from being a B lister. :lecture

And to further add to that, one of the most used scenario/future for the Avengers is having Ultron reigning supreme. They even had a storyline in which the villanous time travelling Kang goes to different timelines to recruit Avengers & other heroes to battle Ultron. Check the movie "Next Avengers" as well, good animated flick.

xYx pretty much summed it up.

But none of those are Avengers comics...:dunno

There you go...you've only been reading since HoM, you read on and off, and no main Avengers comics, he's an Avengers villain. So you missed his stories, that's all.

Annihilation, War of Kings, Realm of Kings, Civil War, Secret Invasion, Emperor Vulcan and World War Hulk were also all big event mini series, not regular comics. Ultron is usually the center of any story he's in, so it's understandable he wouldn't be in those event comics since they featured other main villains, he's never a sidekick.

Since you've been reading he's popped up in Avengers comics several times, and the slow build up to Ultron War with hints here and there over the past few years. HoM was in 2005, also when Runaways Vol 2 came out, featuring the son of Ultron which was another big deal at the time.

Sorry to those who could care less, this is supposed to be about a statue but I'm a comic nerd, I can't help it.
