Arkham Joker and Professor X aren't even worthy of figures, let alone 1/6 figurines statues.

I'm not worked up, and I said before, I think it's a cool figure, but it's almost like HT wants to alienate their other customers.

Are you expecting a multitude of BRAND NEW armor designs in the upcoming Iron Man 3 movie? Possibly “42” different designs?
All these will be unveiled in end April during movie launch!

Hot Toys’ Power Pose Series (PPS) will bring you with a collection of all the BRAND NEW designs appeared in the Iron Man 3 movie soon.
Start with Mark XLII and collect them all to complete your PPS Iron Man 3 Series!

The Power Pose Series (PPS) collectibles share some common features with that of the Movie Masterpiece Series and Diorama Series. Display them together to create your own movie scene in 1/6th scale!

This is my favorite. I call it their "exclamation that we're going to treat all non-Iron Man fans like *****es, since they'll come back once we eventually show them what they want to see." Just to put it in perspective, I still think Iron Man was a better film than The Avengers, and, contrary to what some might believe, I really am looking forward to the film, but, as far as the Collectibles go, it's a flood worthy of an ark being built.

To say HT is milking the IM franchise is something everyone should be able to see, especially collectors. It's their top selling franchise, and they're a business before anything so it's a no brainer that they would milk it.

The only thing I don't like is that they're raising the price. I mean they're the only main company that sell 1/6 MMS and it's on the greedy side for them to raise the price knowing we will still buy it but I guess that's our fault for being such suckers for these things.

If you don't like a certain franchise there really is no point in complaining about it. To each their own. Every collector has their own taste and we're sharing a hobby, might as well support each franchise.

Nobody wants a sick, poorly designed punk Joker with catheter and IV bag. DCD covered that well any way.

And I suspect there's zero interest in a dude with a yellow and blue jump suit whose only meaningful accessory is a posed hand to point his index finger at his noggin.

But i bet Pepper potts is :lol

YES!

First off all, you don't even know that he's going to be the leper version, and, second of all, Nova and I do, therefore, your argument is invalid. :lecture If I could, I'd strip you of that Joker sig faster than Odin stripped Thor of Mjolnir.

Fair enough, though I'd say it's not so much alienation, rather it was never gonna appeal to the figure collectors (articulated figures anyway).

That said, the way they're marketing it seems like they're still trying to reel in the same customers who buy their articulated figures. Still, the figure itself looks great and seems like a decent display alternative (for people who don't mind static figures). Personally with cases of massive merchandise splurges, I don't mind it as I simply view it as the fans getting a bit more variety than usual. Sure, some people might get suckered in, but we're smarter than that now aren't we?

:horror You aren't worthy of having Hamill Joker in your sig!:pfft:

Truth be told, the definitive Hamill Joker remains as the animated Joker in my eyes (my personal favorite being the JLU and Batman Beyond versions).

Don't worry the thread will be turned over to those who like it after a day or two. The first day is when the outrage and 'WTF?' & 'PASS!' Comments flood then that subsides and the likers get to like.
Happens everytime.

I agree, but, it's already a stroke of luck that we're getting an Arkham version, so I question whether we'd ever be lucky enough to get that version. I just wish they'd show the main line, and sprinkle this secondary stuff in throughout the rest of the year.

That would explain why you're here (along with moi).:lol

Guilty. I think this whole thing is absurd, not content with being the 1/6th Iron Man king they announce Die Cast which screws over that little company and then announce these to try and screw Koto.

It may be all about the benjamins but i consider trying to undercut and screw over other companies by copying their format to be scummy, especially when they're doing so well already.

And like you i know of a ton of over overdue figures that could've come in this ones place but once again didn't. I waited through AV and TDKR for them to come and now this, well it's a wake up call that no matter what HT say they won't deliver, so it's eaiser not to care anymore.

Let the rut be the rut, the rare times a line that breaks out of it isn't worth the time waiting.

BTAS Joker Arkham Joker

A video game Joker isn't worthy of no 200 dolla figure. A few cool, 6" and 7" figures from Mattel, Square Enix and DCD? Sure. They've done a good job. Not Hot Toys though. Hot Toys clearly just wants a monopoly with everything. They want it all. That's why they steal other companies thunder by announcing things that probably aren't in development or taking on licenses that smaller 1/6 companies try out (we know it's true).

I'd say the same thing about BTAS toys. If Hot Toys made BTAS things, that'd be dumb.

Some things just shouldn't be made. Just because it exists doesn't mean a 1/6 figure or a toy needs to happen. I lol at 1/6 Dexters, Daniel Day Lewis, Walter Whites, Tyler Durdens, etc.

Marty McFly and Doc Brown Hot Toys figures? C'mon. It's like we're all using excuses to keep on collecting so the hobby isn't finite. "Just one more grail!" "One more obscure release!"

Its called business. If they can make a product that is similar and maybe better no harm in that. If the others want to stay relevant then those companies will step up.

Thing is you do care. Otherwise you wouldn't go into every Iron Man, Avengers, or similar thread and moan about it. I get it that this character isn't your thing but you've beat the horse to the point that your rants are as bad as what you're ranting about.

Haven't been in this section (other than the Spidey thread & now this) in months :wave

I don't hate Iron Man either, i'm simply burned out on seeing him, like many people in this thread.

And like many in this thread, not just me! This PPS is considered beyond milking, unnecessary overkill.

Go back through my posts. There's been lots more much negative than mine.

Do you think the Arkham Batman shouldn't be made? Hamill Joker is Hamill Joker is Hamill Joker, and I think it's a great character design from a great game, and it deserves to be made; moreso than Pepper Potts, that's for damn sure. Just because it's not from a movie doesn't mean it's not worthy of a figure, and why would you lol at those things? The entire purpose of this hobby is to represent things we like, so, if people like Tyler Durden's and Walter Whites, why shouldn't they be made?

He's just yanking your chain because he knows you want it. Same with me and Prof X

Well, fans will be glad to know that Hot Toys is cancelled. Howard filed for Chapter 11 this morning.

Call it build up based on past behavior then. :wave

I'm warming to Iron Man again, i hated how he was all smug and arrogant in IM2, just didn't like him as a character in that. I hope in IM3 he's likable once more like he was in IM1 as it looks good from the previews.

Collectible-wise i've got my MKIV and have sold the rest, i'm not in the hobby to sell and buy the latest version, that's just not me. And with licenses like this and Batman it's easy to get sucked into that pattern.

That being said i love the colour scheme of this and will probably get an Iron Patriot figure to pose with ASM and pretend it's Osborn in there :rock
