Re: Hot Toys TTM 20-22 TrueType Basic Series

Why is hot toys not producing a narrow shoulder? Its so strange.

I agree. All things considered while the other three are brilliant for that perfect moment you need them, by in large the standard narrow is what you need for 75% or more customs. It might be because in fact they are the most commonly knocked off types on ebay and they know they can't justify the outrageous prices they are charging, but advanced and slim are dried up and neither have been knocked off and offered heavily.

Truetypes used to cost what the knock offs do now, now they cost almost 3 times as much and don't even come with a generic head.

My guess would be that they're updating the narrows now. They tend to release bodies in waves, so we'll probably see them as one of the next releases. Though hopefully we get some long overdue new female bodies first.

I'd also like to see some new version of the TTM19 but with the perseus legs and ankle system. With Kevin Flynn bare feet. Basically a figure you could pose in underwear yet still look good. It'd be great for the Iminime Leonard Shelby 'Memento' figure we are knocking around in the Interest section.

It's their business strategy--release certain bodies, end run, interest builds up, more bodies are produced to meet demand, end run, etc. Disney has been doing that for eons with their video releases. I'm sure the narrow shoulder, or some updated version of it will be released in the next production run. Possibly alongside female bodies, a fat guy body, a TTM-19 equivalent, etc.

Re: Hot Toys TTM 20-22 TrueType Basic Series

I would love a fat guy body. (I mean, aside from the one I already live inside!) Or a tall, lean body ... something more Liam Neeson-ish ... tall, without being muscular. Or a skinny body.

And neck/chest pieces for all the various kinds of bodies, including slim.

Ultimately, I really just wish HT (or somebody) would go all modular and sell a range of variously-sized body parts so we could assemble very specific bodies ourselves.

You can in a way...HT themselves have been mixing various TT body parts together for some of their releases.

So are there replacing the old wolverine style muscle body? Cos those are hella expensive on ebay atm. Or are they going to re-release that one alongside these? It's just that non of these are as visually clean as the old one (more noticeable joints) and they're just not as realistic looking.

True. But in order to do that, you usually have to buy entire figures to get the extra parts. Luckily, the few times I've swapped out parts like that, I've been able to use the extra bits on other figures. But I'd much prefer it if we could just buy the parts directly.

Doesn't seem likely they'll ever do that, but you gotta dare to dream, I guess!

Just buy the hitfigure TTM19 knock-offs and laugh all the way to the bank, lol.

The last knockoff HT's body I bought was for $20 on eBay. The thing was so bad I literally threw it in the garbage. No thanks. And for $42? Really?

Re: Hot Toys TTM 20-22 TrueType Basic Series

Really? I've bought about 12 of the knockoffs and love em! I just go with whoever is cheapest at the time.

Re: Hot Toys TTM 20-22 TrueType Basic Series

Though impractical, I wish HOT TOYS would make their base bodies more readily available at a lower price than the sporadic releases.

Moreover, I wish they would focus more on quality control by focusing less on full boxed figures and go the head, accessories, & outfit set route so we can choose whichever base body suits our needs.

It'll never happen, but just a thought.

Yes. Really.
A $20 knock off is obviously the bottom end of the scale. I expect you got $20 worth of quality with that one, lol.
The ones I linked to are of slightly better quality.
Not the greatest. Just slightly better.
