i think sideshow kicked butt with a wide variety of excellent stuff. i do envision a disfigured emperor and a pre-disfigured palpatine in the two pack. can't wait for that one!!! :monkey5

Last year Sideshow has two events to show items. One being Toyfair and SDCC. This year it was three, and why would they not use most of the SW stuff at CIV which was all Starwars, and focus on all the other lines at SDCC?

I can't belive now negative this place has become, I swear Sideshow could give everyone some 12" figure for free and 90% would complain because they have to pay shipping.

Well, understandably, some collectors griping about this year's SDCC offering only have interest in Star Wars, so the level of work put into other lines, which I and Josh and others are digging, means nothing to them so there's room for dissappointment. Unfortunately, with doing Jabba last year, even though he was basically a single item, he carried the impact of 5 new basic figures. On top of that, as nice as Bespin Luke is, many people are hungry for other characters, and understandably so, so to have another one taking the spotlight here isn't anything superb. Bottom line, we're all looking for different things and will take away different feelings from this show. My feeling is I hope my wallet can match my dreams :)

The thing is I would bet that i would Jabba had come out this year, he would have been shown at CIV not SDCC. I think the problem is the assumption that there would lots of Star Wars announcements at SDCC 2 months after a Star Wars show.

I think the idea of the 2 pack is that neither Sidious or Palps would be loaded down with accessories, so they are each other's accessory.

Make sense, though quantity isn't necessarily important for quality of accessories. Some would think it cheesy, but I'd like to see a set of hands with Sith lighting coming out of them and that would certainly take up a good ammount of packaging. I just thought of a good exclusive for Palpatine in his outfit from dueling Mace and the Jedi, Anakin's saber hilt with red blade. The original story was that Anakin would be there in the office at the time of the arrest and Sidious would actually use his saber, and you can see in BTS footage as well as frame by frame play of the film, that McDiarmid is holding an Anakin hilt at times, but since you hardly see it, they opted to just use the red saber effect and not make Ian reshoot his fight scenes at his age. It'd be an accessory that is kinda unique and nods at the big SW geeks that know such details, but would have no film relevance to alienate those that miss out on getting the exclusive.

I kind of expect there to be a decent amount of extra items especially sith lighting hands.

This set has great potential for a diverse display of figures so far released.

Sidius with Anakin (pre-Vader and Anakin/Vader kneeling)

Sidius with Anakin & Obi Wan

Sidius vs Mace (and Kit?)

Palpatine & Jedi Luke

Palpatine & Darth Maul (doable)

Both. I... uh... talked to somebody who would know a thing or two about what's in-store for this release. Trust me, we'll be happy.

Irish why you gotta be a cachtease about this haha. JK. If you can at least share with us how soon we may all see the light on this pack, that'd be helpful.

It was mentioned that SSC will likely spill the beans on the 2-pack "very soon". Don't have an exact ETA, though.

I also wanna see some pics of the 1:1 Indy bust. The 1/6 sculpt by Trevor blew me out the door.

Irish, I think you can already see the 1:1 Indy bust, forgive me, but there's one done by the guy who did the Yoda and Dracula busts and he's got a lot of other amazing ones and Indy was one of them.

Actually the SS Drac and Yoda busts were done by 2 different people. Howard Senft did the Yoda (as well as the 1:1 Scarface), Miles Teves did the Dracula. I think you're talking about Howard's Indy bust though, it does look very nice. I have no idea if that's the one SS is using though.

The one by Howard that people have been seeing online was a commission job and is a few years old. It's my understanding that SDCC has either commissioned an all-new sculpt (by whom I don't know) or is doing it in-house for their 1:1 bust.

Thanks Andy, Howard's is what I was referring to, he also has a dracula on his site I believe so I just assumed having done Yoda that he had done dracula. Hopefully for the Indy fans, they'll use Howard's existing Indy or at least have him do one, his work is great, and based on seeing Dracula, so is Miles'.

Speaking of sculpting work, I hope either you, Trev, or Tim Miller worked on those Palps and Sidious heads cuz if anyone's going to do them the justice they deserve it's you guys, and I'm hoping to still see some AB in the star Wars line, still love what you did with ROTS Obi-Wan you gave me everything I could want in a sculpt of that appearance.

I don't suppose you know who did the sculpt for the Palpy pack? There really hasn't been a terrible sculpt yet, but it'd be cool to know for f-sake!
