OR just get rid of Blake Lively, Martin Campbell and Geoff Johns and keep everyone else :exactly:

Then make a sequel along the lines of the Sinestro Corps war with a proper script and plenty of time off Earth

I think DC's best shot is probably just to do MoS, a Batman reboot, then go right into The Justice League. Every character doesn't need his or her own intro movie. It worked brilliantly for Marvel but Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings opened with instantly iconic characters that hadn't been built up in film before. DC would actually have a leg up in that regard because for better or worse people already know who Supes, Bats, WW, Flash, and now GL are.

Get some excitement going with a new Superman and Batman movie and the hit with a huge JL movie. I just don't see it working for them to do four or five intro movies over the next 3-4 years just so they can release Justice League in 2017. If anything The Avengers may have laid some nice groundwork for super A-list team movies that DC won't have to retread for years on end as a result.

May not hurt to combine some of the smaller characters into one movie, like Green Lantern and Flash, and maybe even toss in a Wonder Woman cameo so you knock them all out at the same time, then a Batman reboot + MOS and you'd be pretty much set to jump right into a JL movie.

Just avoid origins for Lantern and Batman, we already know and have gotten them recently enough.

Yeah, this has been my position on it. MoS + Batman reboot and then jump into JLA. I don't think the GL film need be ignored though, let it stand as GL's origin film and bring Reynolds back in JLA

The Rock has been trying to get his foot into the door of a Superhero movie for years. He has also floated the idea or the notion that he'd be Black Adam and this Green Lantern one isn't a new one pointing at him. DC had the opportunity to put in John Stewart especially since he was the most recognizable GL in recent history thanks to the JLA cartoons and instead went with Hal Jordan, thanks in large part of Geoff Johns.

As long as Johns is calling any kind of shots I wouldn't expect to see a John Stewart movie at all and at best it'd be a cameo or a "sidekick" similar to War Machine. A John Stewart was cast in the GL movie by Nick Jones who was later cut. (Guy Gardner planned was as well but never casted). Part of the problem that WB has themselves quoted is saying that the public was confused about who GL was thanks to the 90s Superman series using Kyle with Hal's story and the JLA using John. I don't see them mudding the waters more by redoing a whole GL film with yet another Lantern.

Given the way that Rebirth went around reestablishing the 4 Earth GLs I wouldn't say it's outside of the realm of possibilities that there'd be all four making their way to the big screen in some fashion but DC seems fixed on Hal as their main "top gun" even mention the character by name when referring to the JLA (the same they refer to the Barry Allen Flash as the one they want)

I wouldn't put too much stock into The Rock's tweet other than he himself has been bugging both DC and Marvel to do something. Lanterns can co-exist and it might be that DC is moving forward with the theoretical sequel which would have the Oans creating more rings to combat a Sinestro Corps to which you'd get all of them Guy, Kyle and John introduced alongside Hal. That was the original plan of the sequel in it's earliest of phases.

The question is who will be Hal. Fox has shown that they'll continue with both a Deadpool film and the Wolverine sequel completely ignoring Origins in both but keeping the casting, WB could in theory do the same, wouldn't be that hard really. Or they could see the success of Ruffalo who "James Bond'd" his way into The Avengers without breaking continuity and simply recast.

I think this could work as long as other heroes are introduced someway in the movies. MoS end credit scene with Flash, Batman movie Wonder Woman cameo.

I like this idea a lot, specially because you can cut down the amount of movies to get to Justice league and less chance of a screw up, having 2 or 3 characters in one movie would be a lot of fun too, I would like to see this

DC is really trying to have a go at Marvel:

It was recently reported that Warner Bros hired "Gangster Squad" writer Will Beall to work on a "Justice League of America" movie. But we now have a bit more information about Warner Bros' superhero strategy.

Since the studio can no longer count on the billions of dollars coming from the "Harry Potter" franchise, Warners is desperate to launch new franchises and is looking to DC Comics for help. It turns out that Beall was actually hired a year ago and the script will likely be handed in soon.

It's unclear who will direct, but after the success of Joss Whedon's "The Avengers," the goal now is to hire people who understand the material. Warners is hoping to keep Christopher Nolan beyond "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Man of Steel," but there's no word if he would like to return for any more superhero flicks.

But if he wanted to continue producing or directing, there are plenty properties to choose from. Variety has confirmed that Warners is also developing "The Flash," "Wonder Woman," "Green Lantern 2," "Aquaman," "Green Arrow," "Lobo," "Shazam" and "Suicide Squad." Regarding "Green Lantern 2," the studio has yet to decide whether Ryan Reynolds will be brought back or whether the character will be relaunched in a new way.

Green Arrow is mentioned and it sounds like something new to Variety so I wonder if the Goyer "Supermax" was scrapped?

Hate to necro but I couldn't find a specific thread. A little bit about GDT's Dark Universe DC project.

https://www.ign.com/videos/2013/01/07/guillermo-del-toro-talks-dark-universe-his-dc-movie

He also mentions that DC are "very, very confident" with what they have regarding Man of Steel.

Here you go:

It's not exactly the right name, though. :lol If a mod could update the title, though, I'd be much obliged.
