I really wish they kept Isaak until the end of the season - he was fantastic. I wish they kept him alive and just turned the cop into a weird buddy cop / serial killer / criminal show. They were so great together.

I don't care about this Phantom fire guy. This, Hannah's dad... just seems like filler to get to the end of the season with LaHHHHHHHuerta and Dexter.

Very un-Dexter-like to kill the season Big Bad in episode 9. The only other one to not make it to episode 12 was Miguel Prado.

He was a great character. Ray Stevenson played the hell out of him. Dare I say I like his character better than Trinity. :horror

Don't believe everything imdb says. They have Isaak in for 12 episodes.

:nono you don't like him better than Trinity , you like him because he's a different kind of character . :exactly:

Trinity was never likable. He was a freaking weirdo, from the very first episode we saw him being a psycho he always made me feel uneasy. I remember watching that season and truly being afraid for his family and for Dexter and for Dexter's family. There was something about Trinity that always made me think he was going to kill his kids or something. Very on the edge, an amazing performance made me afraid of him. he was so unpredictable, one day he is your best friend the next day he wants you dead. Very creepy.

Isaak was very likable and friendly, even to the guy that killed his lover. From the very first time we see Isaak he is polite and even smiled a couple of times. He was more friendly that Lila actually. She was a little arrogant and was nice in an arrogant way, you could feel Isaak was not that way even thought he was a killer there was something nice about him. Something that made him feel friendly. This episode just brought all that home by making him side with Dexter.

Well, that is the way I feel, the problem with the Ice Truck Killer is that he was friendly too but you didn't know he was a bad guy until later on and he was nice but he was creepy too. Specially because he tortured that security guy and he was brutal, so there was something scary about him. Isaak was a killer but he never made me feel creeped out by him.
I could say I really liked Isaak as a character and as a person. I liked Trinity and Ice Truck Killer as serial killers because of how smart and unpredictable they were, but I didn't like the as people.

Yup ,

God i hate the previews for the next episode , such fkn spoilers :slap

Issak gone already , that was a shock :horror Awesome that his final resting place was with Victor

The Lagueta thing is pissing me off , that all she care sabout is clearing Doakes' name :gah:

I hope Deb kills her :rotfl

I have a feeling Quinn will die by George

I am actually hoping George was killed by Dexter and Quinn will know the truth about Dexter but will try to cover for him and help him because he took George out. That would be cool, specially since Quinn was so against him before. I would like that. I mean it would be really really cool to have Dexter take him out since he kinda bonded with Isaak at the very end. might not happen but it would be nice if it did.

Or maybe Quinn will kill him and Dexter will figure out it was Quinn but not say anything?

As far as a Dexter enemy, yes. Trinity never had the upper hand on Dexter. Isaak was definitely my favorite villain Dexter has faced. (I don't consider ITK to be a villain).

Trinity had THE ULTIMATE upper hand on Dexter. It was like Se7en, where John Doe had the upper hand....sure, you kill the guy but his work leaves a lasting legacy.

What is so likeable about Isaak is that he turns out to be alot like Dexter and in alot of ways, a better version of Dexter because Isaak learned how to truly love and accept somebody and be loved and accepted. Also, I liked that Isaak was a "bad guy" but he still had honor and his word.

As for Doakes, to bring him back would be a shark jump. I don't rule out that he could be back as a flashback or a memory kinda like they did after Rita's death when they flashed back to Rita & Dexter on their first date. But, to say he didn't die in Season 2 would be a fail.

As for Hannah, any chance that the closer Dexter gets to Hannah the less interested in him she becomes? She had some odd expressions when he was confessing his emotions to her in the hospital.

After seeing how great Jamie is with the kids and how great she looks in those tiny jean shorts, I'm wondering why Dexter would even leave his house. I think there was more romantic chemistry between Isaak & Dexter than there was between Jamie & Dexter. If a chick could take care of my kids like that and wear tiny jean shorts, I'd be lovestruck.

I kind of wish an assassin killed Isaak or Dexter decided to, so anti climatic to have the pissant club manager kill him. At the very least wish Isaak would have gotten him before his last breath. Ah well...

I actually entertained the idea of Doakes being the Phantom. Maybe he burned people because he was supposedly in an explosion. Then they showed next weeks episode and I also realised that even Dexters writers aren't that lame.

There was a moment I meant to rewind were Dex is in the elevator and asks to close the door. The fire investigator made a hand motion towards his waist like he was packing, not to mention it was all over his face that he's at fault. Pretty easy to see that it's him.

Yeah, either they're doing a terrible job of hiding the fact that he's the Phantom, or doing a very good job of misleading the audience.

Yeah, was windering if thats misdirection, cause I kind of got that vibe he was off as well.

Kinda reminds me of Season 3 a bit now, where the main bad guy gets killed off then the Skinner got killed off super-quickly and then they used the remaining time to set up a semi-cliffhanger. Sounds like the "Fire Phantom" will be dealt with rather quickly and LaGuerta will be one step closer to nailing Dexter.

Of course, I'm hoping I'm wrong and the rest of the season is more exciting. Hannah will probably turn out to be bad and Debra will have to kill her for Dexter. I just hated to see Isaak gone so soon.

It would be a big twist, but what if Maria finds out that Lila actually killed Doakes and that Dexter killed her and then Maria made peace with it. I'd rather see her on the table, but Maria always did have a soft spot for Dex.

Again and again Dexter shows he doesn't really get emotions the way the rest of us do.

And it is interesting to see how he is now working with the villains of the show, as events are preparing to pit him against Maria and Miami Metro.

Again it is great that the show has largely pulled off Dexter's narrative mask - we no longer get everything through his eyes, that as we examine him from a more objective angle, he wasn't so much awesome as he was full of himself.

I wouldn't call that an upper hand. Its more like a last laugh.

Too bad Hannah wasn't dead aswell! That last scene was almost vomit inducing, even Hannah seemed creeped out with the extent of Dexter's feelings for her.

I can't see Maria just giving up. They kinda had her flirting with Dexter in the first season but quickly dropped it, I don't think she is actually fond of Dexter. She is however fond of Doakes and wants to clear his name, that's what is driving her because clearly with the exception of wanting to clear Doakes' name, her main focus in the department has been politics. It's even clearer now as she went to Matthews for help.

I wouldn't call that an upper hand. Its more like a last laugh.

For somebody who enjoys the ritual and meaning behind what they do, it was like a masterpiece in terms of art. It was the ultimate revenge, he actually emotionally damaged a cold-blooded killer. Even in the last episode, you see that the death of Rita actually effected Dexter. Harrison was in his dead mother's blood just like Dexter, Sins of the father, vicious cycle, the whole nine yards.

This is why Trinity will always be the #1 Dexter Bad Guy.
