Yep, if they'd done the typical fade to the outside for the explosion they could have come up with a million ways he survived... but they stayed inside for the blast.

He's next to the stove. Masuka confirms the mangled torso of an "african american male" in the next episode. There's no wiggle room here. If they retcon this away they will screw up Doakes's story, which is one of the strongest things they did in this series.

Doakes! I'm putting my money on flashback or a new mental projection for Dexter. There is no leeway, he's dead. But I gotta say the way Dexter has been a complete screw-up the last few seasons, he deserves to be taken down by Doakes however indirectly or posthumously.

So back to Yvonne "Hottest Dexter Chick Ever" Strahovsky. She is so easy on the eyes, its easy to set aside for a minute that she's just a Lila/Lumen hybrid. Might be interesting if she really does try to take him out herself at some point. It's turning out ok, but still feels like a retread of sorts.

I like how they've been able to separate Isaak from the mob so its more of a face-off than a foxhunt. Ray's got some great gravitas and he's been great to watch, but I'd put him well behind Trinity and Ice Truck in terms of importance. If it were any other actor, I don't think we'd be able to place him that high. So far he has proven very formidable for Dex but at the end of the day, being a violent gay mobster doesn't quite match the sheer menace the other two brought in, but better than Miguel Prado, alot better than Jordan Chase and miles better than Travis Marshall. The season's not over yet of course, so we'll see how much better it gets.

Deb is still a broken character, but at least we are starting to feel the heat of Doake's vengeance at her doorstep. I really, really wish they never let her go down that brotherly love thing. It's just as stupid know as when she was blathering to the therapist... and wanting Dexter to kill Hanna was cute, but jumping the shark once again for Deb's character, imo.

Viva Batista, the only truly likeable character in the entire series!

Quinn just needs to go.

This episode put the season back on solid footing. I have a feeling it's the real end of the season, and what follows will be season 6.2. The LaGuerta thing will payoff. I smell cliffhanger.

It was a shock to wrap up the Dexter and Isaak arc in episode 9. Sounds like the last 3 episodes will be LaGuerta and Mathews closing in with the Arsonist and Quinn's arc to fill the hours.

Very un-Dexter-like to kill the season Big Bad in episode 9. The only other one to not make it to episode 12 was Miguel Prado.

He was a great character. Ray Stevenson played the hell out of him. Dare I say I like his character better than Trinity.

Don't believe everything imdb says. They have Isaak in for 12 episodes.

As far as a Dexter enemy, yes. Trinity never had the upper hand on Dexter. Isaak was definitely my favorite villain Dexter has faced. (I don't consider ITK to be a villain).

Also glad Dexter wasn't the one to kill Isaak. George doing it, I felt would have really happened if it were real. Being mafia and all.

I loved how defiant the koshka's are. Victor telling Dexter to get it over with, Isaak calling George a little ****. Tough SOBs.
