Oh man! That sucks. But, I thought that Square sent you a replacement for that broken arm piece.

Their customer support was useless, every time I called I got the same guy... I'm not just saying that either. Basically they would only do a replacement if I ordered it from their site.

The Ninja I got, his right elbow ratchet joint was rock solid and would not budge. Idiot me, who knows better, decided to not blow dry it and it broke. I deserved it lol.

Speaking about spending over 100% on a PAK, I might get two Solidus' lol.

Thats ****ing stupid, since Red Ninja is a con exclusive :slap. That pisses me off!

On Solidus, while he is very cool Im not willing to pay more than $100 on a play arts figure either.

whos paying over 100 for solidus? i paid under that in the 90's. btw not everyone can catch the miniscule windows for restocks. if you want it bad enough you just gotta spend a lot more than retail.

Anyone in many european countries who don't have actual credit card or paypal account. In many stores Solidus is about 140-150 euros. So 100$ is nothing :lol I'm not sure if I would pay that, but thats how it is.

:horror:horror:horror
Thats HotToys Naked Snake price. Might aswell get that rather than buy Soidus from a comicbook shop

I waited for awhile to get the MGS1 Snake and Fox, luckilly a friend found them at NYCC for regular price (unfortuneatly for me only the Red Fox, which I have two of them). I'm glad I did, because with Solidus, he's a must have, and getting him I'd feel silly if I didn't get Solid Snake.

So, while I started out by saying I'd only get MGS 1/6, I now have every MGS Play Arts except Miller (if they come out with MASTER Miller - HE's MINE!!!), regular Fox, and I'm ordering Solidus s soon as I pay off my HT Boss figures. All in all, I'm really glad I got them. They are really fun to pose and remind me of when I bought the original McF MGS figures (which I still have!).

Feel free to then read my thread post again. I never bashed you nor said anything negative about your starting point of $140 + paypal fees (which is what you said in your PM to me; you never said that price did not include shipping). I simply stated my honest opinion about your starting offer of $140 + paypal fees, which I said was unrealistic. And it is.

As I've been buying, selling and trading for well over 15 years, I'd like to think I've learned a thing or two about the collectibles market and accurate pricing, to include what someone can expect to minimally pay for something. For what you're looking to buy and what you're looking to spend, it's simply not going to happen UNLESS someone willing eats some of the costs on their end which is no doubt possible, but very very unlikely (especially with these two high-demand figures).

I sell a lot and I personally don't sell many pieces for more than suggested retail. In fact, most stuff I sell for less than retail, even when they're going for more on these boards, eBay, and elsewhere. You can ask the wide variety of members on this board who've bought from me numerous times just how "classy" I am. I'm an honest seller who'll give you an honest opinion about what something is honestly worth and what it'll cost you from another buyer.

If you truly feel insulted, hurt or "bashed" because I shared my honest opinion about what you told me and which I, in turn, shared with another member here who was, as you say, trying to hook you up, I'm sorry. I didn't realize what you'd told me about your starting offer of $140 + paypal fees was secret information I wasn't supposed to share.

You want my honest opinion?

At this point, you'll be lucky to get both figures from any one seller for $160 after fees and shipping.
That's pretty much cost for the pair shipped to you.
How did I get to that price?

Retail on the figures is $60 per figure plus tax ($5 per figure or so) not to mention $10-15 for shipping to you. And that's at retail cost without the buyer asking for anything extra to cover their costs, including gas, shipping supplies and time.

Most people who've purchased these two figures - Play Arts Kai Solid Snake and Cyborg Ninja - are collectors keeping them for their own display/play OR they're flippers who bought a set to intentionally wait for the inventory to run out and then make money by selling them on the secondary market. Either way, those two types of people won't sell to you for what you've already said "not right now" to - $160.

That $160 offer was made to you by me which was my actual cost for the pair of figures ($75 each after tax) + shipping ($10) with NO EXTRA $ built in for my time, effort or expense (to include the aforementioned driving to my local store, buying them with my own money upfront, packing them up with a box and packing material I almost certainly had to pay for, and then dropping them off at my local fedex store.

I personally hope you're able to find the pair for less than $160. But, honestly, I doubt it'll happen.
I admire you looking for the best deal around. We should all do that.
But if no one's ever told you this tidbit of advice, let me share it with you now: "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."

Please don't waste my time or yours replying to this post as I'm in no mood to spend additional time or thought on this. I am no longer interested in spending my time and money selling you a set of figures I don't even own anyhow.

Good luck finding the pair of figures - they're truly great and are fun to play with too!
I'd honestly love to know how much you do end up paying for them if/when you do finally get them.
Blessings.

Oookay.

Anyway, I locked up a deal for the figures earlier so thanks to the people who helped me out.

Glad you got 'em - they're great figures!

Enjoy 'em and again, blessings!

By the way, you're an amazing artist - your arts and craft thread is impressive! :)

TWO Red Foxes? hmm... would u be willing to part with one of your Red Fox open mask heads? Unlike the McFarlane ones, Play Arts Gray Fox comes with his "Mega Man gun arm" but no extra head.

Snake Plissken's awesome Psycho Mantis inspired me to post some of my own. This was made last year.

Thanks Plissken, you might notice unlike you, I can't draw eyes! So
I tend to avoid them similar to what Shinkawa does many times. Them eyes on your Mantis, damn. :clap

I can sort of do the Shinkawa silhouetted eyes, when I get home from work I'm going to put together some stuff. I really like that Old Snake and MKII picture.:clap

I might try a head portrait of Snake and Meryl from MGS1.

Worth a repost since were on the subject.

This was a few days ago, I need to do a good paint job and not make it look flat for a change with contrasted shadow! ughh

Damn those are good! What do you use? Were you in art school? I only use pencils, since I don't know any other way. And I'm hoping to learn photoshop if I have the time.
