Also, isn't the HT beard too low? It was definitely higher to the cheeks in-game. Maybe it could be modded too?

I posted that very thing earlier. It's much more closer to his cheekbone line that this and it's darker too. Don't even get me started on that terrible hair style they gave him... :thud:

I personally prefer the look of Snake, Big Boss, hell every character, in Shinkawa artwork form over ANY 3d renders. So much meaner and harder looking.

I think some some clay to link the mustache to the beard, and honestly he should have more beard hair. It's too thinned out and too ethnic, if I could use the word.

The beard is too clean-cut and trimmed; which is unlike what we saw in MGS 3, where Snake had a more gruff and unkempt appearance. The face could have also used some camo. I would think that if it weren't for the bandana, Snake would look like he was preparing for a soiree... or a wedding.

By the way, thanks for the advice. Would it be okay to just stick some modeling clay on the face and paint it? Or would I have to bake it somehow? Oddly, I've never used clay - even when constructing modeling kits, so I have no idea how it works.

I wish I had 5% of his magical talent.

I honestly could not tell you, I've never done it before but I imagine someone like Elvis could probably give you tips on how to do that. It should be a quick fix. I myself will leave it how it is, I would be too fearful I would F it up :(

Plisken you are a good artist in your own right, your MGS drawings are well done and definitely capture the Shinkawa essence of the characters.

I try my best, I'm still trying to get a style I like. I had put up a Psycho Mantis drawing in the MGS Collectible thread the other day that no one acknowledged :lol

I might rework it, since I'm so impatient when I draw and I never take my time and it's sloppy...

I saw it and it was excellent! I do some art myself, but I'm not that good.

I wish I put more time into my work, I can do some amazing things on paper but I find it irritating since you need to erase. I got spoiled with a tablet, but I just wish I had one that has a LED screen built into it.

Shinkawa has one :mad::lol

Yes that Mantis is good! Still my favorite is the MGS2 Solid you did, that's great.

Yeah Pliskin that art was very badass. You channelled Shinkawa very well. I have drawing skills but 0 painting or photoshop painting skills. Im a huge procrastination machine so i haven't improved my skills since school!
I was tempted to get a tablet but the good ones are expensive as hell!!

Antone else here got the AW Comics?

Feel like reading them nw, its a shame they never did MGS3

Ive got a few of MGS1 comics the digital graphic novel( i highly recommend) including limited editions and the collection of MGS2. Great stuff, although very unique Ashs art works well for MGS

Photoshop is something I want to get skilled with after seeing all the manipulation work on this board. That and photgraphy.

:exactly: Same here. I wished I knew photoshop so I can touch up my artworks.

Anyway Plissken, did you entered the Kojima Productions Art Contest last year?

I got a cheapo one, I would be amazingly better if I could have a LED tablet so I can see my hand on what I'm drawing. :(

I need to start studying off of Youtube, I think my main problem is I'm not very experience with all the different tools and settings. I mainly just wing it from sketch to sketch.

I was kinda on hiatus lol. There is periods of time I don't sketch anything and that was one of them. I'm determined now to get rid of this rust. :panic:

I really kind of like the HS, it feels more Skinkawa-esque to me than the actual in-game model from MGS3. Maybe that's why I like it so much :p Yoji's work is amazing! :)

I agree. I'd like the hair to have been done a little "looser" at the back, sort of like the HT True Type "Gambit" head. Minor gripe though, and one I think I may be able to modify if I really am bothered by it.
