on the purple heads the paint fades to red around the mouth area. maybe that is the intended blood loss look.

the purple and slow fade out to red is just so well done compared to the sloppy all red/brown/yellow heads its hard to imagine it wasnt the intended look on a figure at this price point.

Yeah, Hot toys messed up some where, because all the heads should be the same color

hold on to that thought....

those purple heads could fade or wash off to red, now that would be a nightmare.

No truer words have been said.

a lot of dudes saying you should return your brown head sets and demand a refund don't realize that many of us got this from ebay or some other online source or shop that does not accept returns or buyers have to pay return shipping at $20-$30 plus insurance etc. some even charge a restocking fee. that and the fact that sideshow is "officially" saying to retailers that the brown heads are an intended look, how will you claim factory defect for a return reason? so you're already down $30 on return shipping plus time and hassle. so just do the mature thing and live with it. it's called life. nothing is perfect or guaranteed. $360 is $360. if you think it's not worth it don't worry. it's only money. you'll earn that back at some point.

If you already got it, and are fine with it, then keep it! No one even said guys should return the figure. But don't suggest that everyone should drink the Kool-Aid just because you need/want to believe that ad hoc story cooked up by SSCs & HTs. Because its clear the excuse is just that. If the head is brown because of blood loss, then shouldn't the body be brown too...atleast partially? And if the artist interpreted it in this way, then wouldn't they still have a QC issue that they aren't owning up to with the all purple heads? They can't have it both ways. One of the heads doesn't fit the lame excuse.

And to the guy that said this is just one mistake out of several solid offerings, you're quite mistaken. Although those figures you mentioned were good for the most part, this is hardly HTs first gaff. Please check the DX 02 thread, the Bruce Wayne/Bats thread, the Alien Nostromo astronaut threads, any of the past Alien threads, the Watchmen Comedian thread, the Baby Doll thread, the Sarah Conner thread, the ED 209 thread and most any thread that included a figure with rubber components.

This is not a first time issue with SSCs or Hot Toys having bad QC problems that they chose not to address. Even with the John Conner figure, the swapped the correct heads, but his rifle was still dead wrong. How did they fix that? They made anothe John Conner figure and gave him the wrong gun too. So if you had both, you could swap em, if not, you had to try and track down or trade for the right rifle.

Bottom line is, for close to $400 smacks, the figures color scheme should make sense. Either brown or purple, not a mismatch of both colors as NONE of the artist proof ever should the alien with a purple body and brown head or a brown body with a purple head. The alien was always consistently colored one way or the other. This rationale they're pushing right now smells like something they pulled out their arse just to move product.

So for the guys who can't return em, enjoy em. The guys who haven't bought them yet, you gotta ask yourself is the mistake and the follow up insult to your intelligence is worth your $400 dollars.

For me, I'll be voting NO by holding on to my cash until I can get one colored correctly or atleast consistently or get a discount on the fubar QC one.

question for those with this fig. was the box sealed in anyway? not the brown shipper but the inner ornate samurai box with the two(one the base the other the pred) boxes inside.

i ask cuz im asking HK sellers to see if the alien head is purple b4 i buy. one says he will check the sets he has after i make payment cuz the boxes are "MISB" etc.

wondering if they are indeed sealed or not. on the youtube vids i see it looks like they are not and the top square lid just slides up and off.

the box is a square slide up lid with 2 individual SEALED boxes (regular Hot toys packaging style) one for base one for figure. So no, he can just check by opening the box and looking at the alien head through the plastic window. But MISB COULD mean the brown mailer box.

thks chubby. :)

i thought the brown mailers were on the ones via SS and not on the ones sold localy in HK?

nope still get them in HK.

thks again chubby, appreciate it. :clap

still huntin for that sam pred with purple alien head set over here.. :p i think the purple heads were all in the first wave that shipped localy to HK buyers and HT ranout of paint and manufacteured the second batch anyways.

i think the farther i get from that first wave shipped to HK in early sept the harder it will be to find. HK sellers prolly sold those and got more from second batch with red heads.

still aint givin up yet!

Can't get over how much better I like the red color scheme on the entire alien, just goes better with the Samurai Pred to me for some reason.

Like it so much better, scored and extra base from TA and sent it off for a repaint. Can't wait to see it in person! :yess:

:lol:slap You don't really want the figure if a single layer of purple wash on an accessory is stopping you from buying it. Hot Toys will repair the head if you're unlucky enough to get one. Just contact customer service via their site. Sideshow isn't doing anything about it...

trust me butters i want it. bad. i dont usualy spend this much on a figure, so i dont want to look at it and everytime see a fault like this that will annoy me.

to each there own, im sorry if it seems silly, worth laughin at or you cant get what im sayin but its how i feel and ...money is tight round here. :)

Is it a option for HT to repair it? was sure they would give the same reply SS is giving.
