Also - The face expression on the original is so much more Jack.. This one just looks too gloomy to me.

Honestly can't decide.
If Hot toys Jack hadn't been sitting on my shelf for 6+ months then this would have been an instant buy.

That is the best ever 1/6 figure and has 2 amazing face sculpts.
I like 1/4 PF's better but this is $380 in order to take a big step down in terms of quality and likeness? Tough ask.

I know what you mean I love the larger scale of PFs but it's always the paint apps on the faces that let them down. I wouldn't even mind if the PF heads were a plastic material if we could get hot toys level detail on them.

Paint apps are always the biggest draw back of SS products IMO. Every SS figure I've had, I've repainted and the 1 PF I have i've also repainted. It's just hard for me to want to spend approx $400 on something and still have to repaint it, weather it and so on and so forth to make it how it should've already come.

I just don't understand it. They got this great license with plenty of characters to choose from and still they decide that they will make two pf's of the same character. No Davy, no Will, no Elisabeth, no Norrington, no Barbossa ............ but instead two Jacks'

It's just hard for me to want to spend approx $400 on something and still have to repaint it, weather it and so on and so forth to make it how it should've already come.

I would have the liked the original Jack PF to have been weathered a bit more, thats why i have decided to purchase the new one as the weathering looks spot on. The new base is more dynamic in my opinion than the original and has a more pirate-y feel to it. Dont get me wrong the original base is fantastic and i may even pinch the lantern from it to use in the display of the new one I really dont mind having 2 of the same character, each pf represents a different pose from a different movie so they both tell different stories if you like. Same with those who have the Indy PF's from ROTLA and TOD. Both super PF's from the same character but yet so different in poses, or the 2 Terminator PF's, etc...

There may not be an ES with this PF... I just spoke with Sideshow's CS and they said that no ES has been set and "there may or may not be an ES at all".

I'm not POing until a guaranteed ES is set.

i'd bet there will be an ES but lately it seems that they only show the ES once they've let the PO go on for awhile. in a few coming newsletters you'll eventually see something along the lines of "You're favorite pirate now has an edition size"

I'am picking up jessica rabbit this friday, and just saw jack on sideshow how many versions are there of this statue and do they come with 2 heads.
