The picture looked great for a 80's movie remastered and then blown up....:dunno

You expected perfection? Crystal clear picture? Good luck with that.

I however, got to enjoy Raiders in almost perfect picture, with perfect sound. It was great. And they did have the posters by the way. I grabbed 4. No one else grabbed any. :lol

What size are those posters you got? I just won one of the mini posters on eBay that are 11" x 17". I saw there is a one-sheet sized (27" x 40") poster with a spot on the bottom advertising the Blu-Ray set coming out on 9/18.

^ Yeah, 11x 17. Small little things.

And I believe those will be released with the marathon. I could be wrong though.

I'm tempted to go to the 4-movie marathon. Not only to see all of the Indy movies on the big screen again, but to get the poster and the lanyard. I like the free stuff! :)

Saw this on the imax last night with Sean. Looked awesome.

Only 10 people in the theater though :(

The marathon is the big poster + lanyard, confirmed by my local theatre. Can't wait til next Saturday, going for Raiders and ToD, may stick around for TLC too. They may as well not even bother playing CS.

It would suck if they waited until after Crystal Skull to give out the posters. :monkey1

If you're going with anyone who doesn't want their poster I will gladly pay for their ticket to get it. :)

IMAX is crazy expenenisve as well. Thinking about goin until I got to the check out (on line) and it was $19 a person?! Almost $40 for two!! I am planing on picking up the blu ray's and they are only $68 on amazon?!! And that's for ALL 3.. 4 sorry. Best for me to buy the blu's and sit an inch from my 110" screen. Welcome home IMAX!

Still not the same as seeing it on a *real* big screen. $19 for a once in 31 years opportunity to experience the movie? What else are you going to do with that 19 bucks that would even come close? Buy a couple of Starbucks?

Sure it is. This way I can experience it anytime I want. If its anything close to the JAWS blu ray 4k transfer plus the HD surround sound... I'll be as happy as a pig in $h1t. Besides it will be like saving $38 on the price of the blu rays. So we have seeing the IMAX (which isn't real IMAX and not even the 4k version) for $38. Or put that 38 towards the blu's (4 films) and reducing the price to $30. I like that math much better.

I'll have an extra from my father but I'm going to hang onto it and frame mine. Sometimes if no one shows up they will give you as many as you want so I'll see what I can do. For the BttF anni screening I think we wound up with 5 posters.

I actually downloaded the color rough of the IMAX poster (the one that says "Celebrating 30 years" and has Indy holding up the gun) from the artist's website and to me it is superior art to the released poster - and not just because it says just "Raiders of the Lost Ark" unlike the final poster.

The color and look of the rough poster closely matches the original poster from 30 years ago and I like the "sketchy" quality. I'm going to blow it up in Photoshop and get maybe an 11 X 17 poster out of it. Not sure the resolution will hold up for a full size poster - the file is too small.

Saw it yesterday at the AMC IMAX in Morrow, GA. Seven people in the theatre including me and my fiancée. That was kind of sad. But it was a thrill seeing it on the big screen again. Like others said, the film was a bit soft, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it. Super loud, but that really enhanced Williams' score, which is just phenomenal. And I noticed some things for the first time that I've never picked up watching it on DVD or regular TV...like the scene where Sallah walks right between Belloq and Dietrich in the desert as Belloq is going about how archeology isnt an exact science.

Picked up a few of the small posters, but I'll still have to track down the larger one. I say if you are a fan and you loved Riaiders and appreciate seeing classics on the big screen, this is well worth it just for the nostalgia factor alone. When will we again get to see Indy in theaters?

The movie wasn't filmed in IMAX. Even if a film is filmed on 70mm, that doesn't make it automatically IMAX.

Wofford can fill you in on the details, because it has to do with The Master, but IMAX is a bigger film format, to show a film in IMAX, it has to be IMAX size.

TDKR has IMAX footage, takes up the whole screen. This film took up most of it, but not all. Which is fine with me, it was BIG. But not TDKR big/ ( In screen size)

The problem is this is a 2K transfer from a digital master, not the 4K master from 70mm that was screened in L.A. last year (that was said to look as good as ANY film theatrically in recent memory). Unsurprisingly, Lucasfilm cheapened out with this release.

Still... I took my 9 year old son, who is the same age I was when I saw RAIDERS when initially released in '81. We had a blast. Well worth it, because the film itself is so damn perfect and timeless and needs to be seen on the big screen. :rock

I didn't mind. Really. Like you said, it was Raiders on the big screen. That was worth the 20 bucks.

Just got back. Loved it. Saw it at Century City AMC Imax in Los Angeles. Pretty decent exhibition. But the movie sings beyond its presentation. Just the sound alone makes it worth it. Been a long time since I actually watched it start to finish with total focus, immersed.

Saw it with my best friend, who I saw RAIDERS with originally back in the day, and his 12 year old son, who loved it.

Oh, and my theater was packed!

that would be awesome if you could. :rock

This is one of the few changes Lucas has made that actually makes sense.

Every single Indiana Jones adventure in every medium is 'Indiana Jones and the....'. It makes everything consistent.

Agreed. This isn't Greedo shooting first.

And at the end of the day, Raiders of the Lost Ark was always a pretty crummy title anyway. Really, all the titles are kinda lame. The best are Temple of Doom and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
