Let me end your debate for you's guys...

Alien Big Chap creature > Alien3 Ox creature > Aliens Queen > Aliens gymnast creature drones > all others

Take it to the bank, well, my bank at least. :lecture & ;)

Ox is sexy, ain't he? Almost seductive. More so than the original, for sure.

Okay size issue:

Aliens Queen > Alien Big Chap > Aliens drones > Ox Alien (all others don't even matter)

Just up late and wasting time on the forums.

I love me some Aliens. Probably put A3 on upstairs for bedtime now that you've urged me.

Cool thing about the original Alien size is that the actor was what 6'8" or so? But his head sat quite low in the Alien prosthesis head, and he was in heels in the shoe portions of the suit as well. All of this would add something like ten more inches to his extreme height. Quite impressive. (All guestimates by the way)

That's funny. I hate phone talk too. I love SS's chat feature for when I need help. But I'm getting better at the phone since I do it so much for work nowadays.

Hmmm, I haven't heard back after submitting my replacement request on the 15th, but I already heard back from my request for a new Joker PF base which I only just submitted yesterday? :impatient:

Sounds like they haven't located a replacement for your Big Chap yet. They're probably harder to come by due to the much smaller EX ES.

Just got mine and opened it up and it has a chip. :thud: It doesn't look as bad in the picture as the lighting makes it look grey but it is actually quite white.

I have sent an email to sideshow but with Jedah Kalm not having any luck with a replacement I'm pretty worried. I only need the body replaced so see no reason why they couldn't ship a regular edition torso. I'm also worried about sending the original back as shipping from Australia is ridiculous.

my one arrived and it sucks. ex feature looks like the tail comes in two parts One of the hoses on the side of the face is loose. Rough surface on base and the leg hovers. Asking for replacement otherwise its just another refund.

^
Ouch.

Update. Well, it looks like I have to call their C/S number today.
I really hate talking on the phone, and avoid it at all cost. :gah:

I've received no acknowledgement of my email either. May stay up a couple more hours (midnight here) and try their online chat service.

On the plus side the ex is in stock so should be replaceable.

Edit: After chat they have said they have received my email and will reply in 3-4 days.

i once called ss and got a voicemail of some lady that said she's on vacation for the next 2 weeks and your call will be answered in the order it was received when she came back...i LOLed...

my support request now takes about 8 bus days to get an initial response up from 2 days in the old days.

everything seems to go down with sideshow except price.

got my big chap statue over the weekend, and i must say i am very happy with it. it turned out quite beautifully, with paint apps cleanly and convincingly applied, giving the alien a look that is pretty close to the on-screen version.

the sculpt details aren't as sharp as it could be, with some softness here and there but this is only upon close inspection. the important thing is that it captures the essence of ridley scott/h.r. giger's vision. and to me, this one accomplishes it far better than the much larger (and much more pricey) maquette. the pose and the menace of the features in this piece are far better. i'm glad i canceled the maquette for this one. no offense to those who got the maquette, if you prefer that piece, great.

my only gripe is that there is a spot where the paint chipped off on the tail. i somehow missed it when inspecting it in the store.

overall, this is a very worthwhile addition to my collection and a great collectible. well done, sideshow.

will post pics the next round...

I've been contemplating it but the painting on the claws has just bothered me for some reason. I don't want to point it out but does yours have evenly painted claws?

Seems mine has been stuck in Louisiana for the last five days. Any of you fellers from the US of A think that's related to Hurricane Isaac?

tbh, i haven't checked in detail whether they were evenly painted, but i think if they weren't i would've noticed. will look again when i get home but from what i remember, they're fine.
