I mentioned earlier, sideshow is moving from limited collectible towards store shelf model, so there will definitely many more open es on popular characters.

As long as they dont pull the stunt of changing from tbd to open es after the fact, they have every right to do it. It's their product and it's clear they dont give a ____ other than max $.

Only thing you can do is stick to your rules of buy vs not buy. No point keep getting upset over it. I made up my mind a while back this will be the first and last open es statue i buy, no matter what sideshow makes going forward i will not buy if it's open es.

We just have to wait for another statue company to get started to get Sideshow's act straight, maybe it is going to happen soon.

Dude, TRUST me this will be an open ES, you can send an email to sideshow the answer will be the same.

I am still going to order this, but I am not too happy about it.

I just hope Sideshow will not put more and more products as open ES.

The way that some people post in this board who say IT DOES NOT MATTER, YOU ARE NOT A TRUE COLLECTOR IF YOU WORRY ABOUT THE ES, ONLY FLIPPER LIKE A CLOSED ES, bla-bla-bla, I wouldn't be surprised if Sideshow will make more and more of their products as open ES in the future.

Why not? After all many people LOVE it and they could generate more profits. Should be no brainer for them.

Truer words never spoken brother

Sideshow must be reading this topic and laughing at us, we probably sound pretty pathetic to them.

Open ES and hollow. FAIL IMO. I'll only buy if I ever get around to collecting this movie line. Starts with Black Widow EX conversion. Clearly there's no rush on this hulk.

Tell that to a lot of people here because they don't seem to understand.

I've been reading this thread and I understand people saying that they love the Maquette and will get it no matter what.

Yes it's a great piece to own in a collection but you got to see further than that. It's about the direction of Sideshow is taking these collectibles. After market value and limited edition sizes is what gives the hobby the buzz. That's what in part makes them hot. That's why in part people are talking about them. Because they are hard to get. They are high end collectibles after all. Seeing this piece go with a open edition and Batman exclusive with an edition of 2000 makes me think Sideshow is getting too greedy. This is not Mcfarlane Toys or Dc Direct.

____ any mother____er that screams that ____! Who wants for their collectible to lose value the second they buy it?!? I know many folks say they don't intend on selling a piece, but I think those folks are either shortsighted, noobs, idiots or all of the above. What if a better piece is released and you are short on funds and have to let a piece go? What if you run into serious financial turmoil or some sort of emergency requiring lots of cash? What if...?!?

It wont, those licenses are a very high barrier of entry to this industry. The existing statue brands besides sideshow are mostly a joke / afterthought.

I had hopes for attakus as all their statue are extremely high quality made in france by inhouse artists, but those guys couldnt market or communicate their products out of a paper bag.

Sideshow has a complete monopoly on 1/4 statues and they know they got us by the balls. Your only option is not buy open es if you are against it.

Thank you Mamba. I've seen your collection pics and you have a great display and collection ;)

Yeah, it's okay. :D

Preach it brother :rock, I think some people here JUST WANT TO LOOK COOL if they say they don't care about the ES.

They think they are better collectors than others if they don't care about the ES. And believe everybody who hates an open ES is a damn flipper. I just don't get it :slap

First4Figures can make a run if they want, they are slowly gaining ground with their products and making great money.
