The vehicle looks to be a thing of beauty, it'll truly be a sight to see i think.

However, It'll cost a bomb and take up a hell of alot of space, so is it a practical product for their market?

I figured it'd be interesting to see how many you boardies think will hot toys actually sell to customers?

*Not retailers or eBayers, but actual customers who open it and display it*

1000 I think

Between die hard Batman collectors and not so die hard people with a lot of money, I can see them shift those kind of numbers

My sense is the Tumblers probably (combining both releases) have about 5000 or so owners

This will clearly have a lot less but still get to 1000 IMO

I'm more interested to know how many they intend to make. But HT doesn't disclose edition sizes, so it'll be a mystery forever.

Since this will probably be the only high-end The Bat thingy, it'll sell a lot. 1000+

Something tells me it can't be that many, this isn't like a standard 1/6 just that people just buy. Customers must take serious, thought out consideration first.

It will be mammoth in size and cost alot and have a natural dwindling amount of customers after the initial hype passes, those factors have to have crossed hot toys mind when judging how many to make & too avoid making too many.

The Tumbler has at least been around for a good few years to season in peoples pop culture mind. The 89 batmobile is so wanted by customers because it's been so long coming and has stood up over the test of time to become an iconic vehicle, "The Bat" is new and hasn't built up that guranteed fanbase that the 89 Batmobile, Delorean, Power Loader ect... Have.

Although it does look awesome it's got the size factor, price factor and 'iconic' factor all working against it selling in very high numbers.

Sideshow has their big and expensive products usually at a low ES or with max of 2000 and quite a few of those take a long time to sell, why would this be different?

That's my 2 cents anyway :)

I dont think bat wing will ever make it into production ... :panic::panic::panic:

Didn't they show off the robot from Sucker Punch at last year's SDCC? I haven't heard anything since, but I'm betting it crashed and burned before even taking off as a product.

How many Tumblers did they sell? Bet it'll be a similar number. If people are willing to spend $500 on that behemoth, most of them'll spend $800-$1000 on this one.

Pretty sure that was GG and not 1/6

Didn't they take a loss on the first Tumbler? :dunno

I wouldn't know. If so, seems a strange choice to do The Bat -- which is bigger and more expensive -- and two new versions of the Tumbler.

Maybe the two new versions will offset some of the losses on the first one ... not too much fresh R&D on the re-issue or the camouflaged versions. But, The Bat will have all new R&D expenses, and have the same problems that affected the Tumbler (which was a cool and well done product) -- price and size.

Let's do a similar thread for the camo tumbler

I think they'll probably do the camouflage Tumbler as an exclusive or limited edition variant. They have to know that demand for the camo one is significantly smaller than demand for the black one.

The camo Tumbler would make a cool display with a Bruce Wayne and Lucius Fox, though.

My guess is 500 or thereabouts. That was the edition size initially listed on the Tumblers. HT is more popular now than it was then, but I reckon this bad boy is gonna cost so much that that will balance things out.
