Just playing devil's advocate here so don't get mad...

...but what other things? It's a booth at SDCC. There are limited functions. As someone who's worked a booth there (and a darn busy one with lots of products) for a decade.... you pretty much take orders and talk about product/answer questions. The set-up is done. I know Sideshow passes out GCs and holds some booth contests, but I can't imagine those were so demanding they had to stop taking orders to divert employee hours to help in those areas.

Not taking orders there means one thing... less employees working. Less overhead in the way of salaries, hotel reservations, food etc. same with not offering attendee pickup of exclusives. It's a cost cutting method. And let me say there's nothing wrong with that. But let's call it what it is.

Can't wait to see you all down there!! Still gonna be a blast!

I was talking about from a customers perspective.

The exclusive versions will look weathered after the metallic paint starts peeling off because they will "forget" to prime them before painting them...:lol

:lecture Exactly. Sideshow's booth used to be one of the first places to hit at SDCC, I'd not THE first. Now it's almost an afterthought. I'll just drop by when I'm in that area of the Exhibit Hall. Absolutely nothing exciting or special about it anymore though.

Still looking forward to seeing everything and the con will be fun, as always. But Sideshow is taking a huge pee in the SDCC punchbowl for the past couple of years. I'll spend my time at booths that make an effort and special event out of it.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. How they do things hasn't changed how much I look forward to ther booth or sdcc itself.

There you go friend. Fixed. I think.

See how stupid I am? I thought you could somehow switch them out from clean to dirty on the ex. :lol

So why is this $25 more then?

I still think we should get the sand base too.

(Like I'll even get it. I'm on the waitlist. :( )

How can it not? You can't pick up your "exclusives" there now. You won't see anything that hasn't already been shown online. You won't even be able to pre-order certain items there... because they're already sold out.

For all we know they've probably also done away with The Doors of Indecision & stuff.

What's there to do at the Sideshow booth now expect get a $15 gift card or take pictures of items that are already online?? Meh.

Hang out with friends... sure. But we can do that anywhere. :lol

I think its a smart idea to sell both because I think you'll get some people buying both. I think they should have made them equal edition sizes though.

My quibble was the fact they called the bases they came on Yavin bases. That is not a film acurate base. No big deal though. I think I will even get off the Ex waitlist. The more I look at the reg and all it's real Exclusives the more I want it :)

EX is where it's at! :) classier look.

I still do look forward to seeing it all in person. :) Still love the booth. Just feel like they have stripped most of the perks for attendees though. I guess the only thing left is a shot at a $100 GC.

But hey... any day you get to see that dead sexy Brant Bridges guy is a win in my book! :wink1: :yess:

So I went on BBTS to order the regular version and I was pretty surprised to see that it sold out a minute or two after I ordered. Of course, them not require a deposit probably had a lot to do with it, but still you might want to think about securing a preorder soon, even with the regular edition.

Random thoughts:

The timing of the order was puzzling. Been a long time since I missed out on the opportunity to get an exclusive.

I am kind of glad that I missed out as I prefer the regular with the one large base and probably would've panicked and bought the EX without looking at the details.

Worried about the weathering, but believe SSC will make this one a priority and nail it.

I'm ready for The Mike to have a new sig avatar...

Oh yeah, what about the regular base size? The product specs indicate and width and depth of 14 inches. Fortunately, I have some shelves built specifically for deep PFs. I'm guessing this will be a challenge for some with limited shelf depth...

Right, have two sets and you can take your choice of which set. Same price, same ES.

Dammit. I love the clean set, but I want that sand base so they can be together! I hate the seperate bases. BLAH!

Bbts stuff sells out fast because they don't order very many. I wouldnt be too worried about securing a regular.

700 dollars which would come to up to be 800 kanga dollars no thank you for a 19 inch PF is not justifiable, is it me or is sideshow doubling their prices for their PF pieces!. For those of you that are getting this piece i envy you until than i will wait this one out until it goes on special at my local comic book store.

i got dark rider of Mondor PF i preorder which set me back 950 dollars i need to take it easy as space in room is running out, like my money :p and i have yet to start my star wars collection.
