Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

Green Lantern was a flop,
Green Lantern figures shouldn't be in the Hot Toys shop.
Even though theres nothing official,
The existance of these figures are superficial.

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

Simple fix.
If you think a thread is useless don't come back to it.
Goodbye
Problem solved for everyone.

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

What's there to discuss in Whedonville then, since his shows always get canceled?

Well, if they move the Avengers down there I'm sure people will have plenty to discuss... lol.

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

There's no purpose to vent or discuss why it was canceled it will mean nothing, no amount of discussion will give answers.

Seems like some people just can't let go even when there's nothing to hold on to.

What's it matter? Noone is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to read it. Stop being a control freak.

"Is" as in "is superficial." Existence is singular, not plural, remember that. Also, existence is spelled with an e, Jackie boy.

The irony is, whether darthviper107 wants to admit it or not, the most active thread in Whedonville in months is the poll thread created by Dave to have the subforum deleted. Other than that there's been a few threads about nudie bootlegs, custom figures, or begging Trevor to sculpt something else from Whedon's body of work. Hardly enough to justify a complete subforum. There's more action in the Indy boards! :lol

But I don't see it taking up unnecessary space as it has it's loyal freaks who pop in now and then to discuss Angel, Buffy, etc., just as we discuss this. I also see absolutely no need for either to be deleted and find his argument not only biased but entirely oxymoronic. :huh

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

So much disdain for this thread. I don't understand why its so important for this little thread to go away. Is it pain and the constant reminder of it?

I never complained that I HAD to come here.

In fact, really the only reason I'm posting in the thread is because I'm surprised that anyone would have thought that after this long that Hot Toys would make a Green Lantern figure when the movie was such crap.

Errr so why are they making Sucker Punch figures again?

Why are they making more Predators?

Re: Hot Toys Green Lantern - Official License Announcement

Then why come in here? I'm not much of a Lord of the Rings fan so i.. don't go in there. Some people just like to stir the $#it I guess.

Well that's mighty charitable. Unless we really needed to free up space on the forums, which I've never seen as an issue for SSF, the more the merrier and to each his own. :duff

Why are they making more Predators?

The Sucker Punch figures probably were already in development and they had no challenges.

It's the same reason there won't be any Tron figures after the lightcycle, there's too much involved with development and the movie didn't do as well as they hoped.

As for Predators stuff--not all of the Predator movies are terrible, so they were able to make money off of at least those, but since it was an interesting design, people still bought the stuff from the crappy movies as well.

As for Green Lantern, the movie was terrible and the design was not memorable, and there wasn't any good indication of whether it might be a good seller or not. And since they already have many other projects that would be more successful it wasn't worth spending the development on something that probably wouldn't do well.

That's simply your opinion.

Many would argue GL was better than any Predators film since the 80s and the designs were just as memorable as well.

At the end of it, IMO GL being cancelled is just the result of HT having bitten off way more than they can chew. They simply do not have the time or resources to follow through and something had to give.

Thread has been renamed

Now this is the General Green Lantern 1/6 Figure Discussion thread

So any 1/6 incarnation of the character, be it from comics, or film, licensed or custom, it all belongs here.

Sucks if this doesn't get made. The movie wasn't the best thing ever but I had and have had a pretty good time watching it. I was looking forward to having a figure from this movie on my shelf.

Is that also the reason we don't get more Whedon properties as figures or statues?

If their statement about it being canceled is true, then it's totally because the movie sucked. If it was a good movie and a good design then they would have found a way. Avatar figures were bound to be successful, which meant they spent as much time as they needed to get a figure out, since they knew they could make money off it.

His stuff has done way better than Green Lantern. And we are still getting Buffy and Angel stuff along with Serenity stuff, plus Whedon has The Avengers plus tons of other stuff he's working on.
