Dude, cheel. Cheeeel.

It seemed like you were responding to the other guy because he didn't understand a part in the film. Now the book can answer that, but i'm saying you shouldn't need to read it.

So if that wasn't what you were saying. My bad.

:lol

Huh? :dunno

Been pretty clear I liked the first book and hated everything else. Try again Uwe. Go back to bashing ironwez. You can keep up with her. :lol

I'm just joking around with you guys. :slap:rotfl

Saw it yesterday, I thought it was OK. As the first part of a trilogy it might be a good stepping stone, but I don't think it stands well on it's own as a complete story.

I had an issue with the absolutes of the characters in the Games. There was not a lot of moral dilemmas you would expect with a bunch of kids forced to fight each other to the death. The 'bad' guys killed everyone that had a neutral affiliation in pretty much the fist 5 minutes of the contest, leaving Katniss only having to face the unredeeming evil boys and girls. I understand that they have been trained for the games, but that doesn't mean they would have to enjoy killing other kids. I would have expected some sort of gladiator/samurai code of honor and respect for performing their duty to the Capital. These kids were just lawless serial killers, just thought it was too simplistic.

I was more entertained with John Carter than Hunger Games. It's amazing how much a complete lack of media hype matters against an excess of it.

I didn't have a problem with the trained tributes being ruthless - if that's all you know for your entire life then it makes sense that they would have no remorse.

Saw it earlier today, it was ok. The parent in me was just bothered by young kids fighting to the death.

I see a difference between being remorseless and revelling in wanton bloodlust, gloating about the kills.
Anyway, I just saw it as a cop-out so the main character didn't have to be conflicted about killing the other competitors in order to survive. It was too black and white for me.

Happy to agree to disagree.

The characters are written that way in the book. :dunno

The only thing i dont get is why the tributes teamed up. Only one is allowed to live but all of them are acting like they are buddy buddy there on a team. When in reality they should watch there backs.

Its easier to get rind of everyone else when you team up. Why take on 23 others the entire game when you can take on 5 at the end.

Same reason people team up on Survivor. You have better odds when it comes time to go all out if you do.
