Definitely underwhelmed with this release. I would never pay $200 for this. $75 maybe.

I've seen customs on here that blow this away in a heartbeat. Wow everything just seems cheap and under-executed.

They stole a too-large-for-Ken doll sweater with zipper and slapped in on with a $4 children's toy wolf. Seriously, this looks like a joke.

None of the pictures are really doing anything for me. Pretty meh. Timber reminds me too much of the little articulated animal dolls my seven year old niece plays with.

I'll probably pick it up in hopes it looks better in hand and can be futzed to look cool.

As it is now, I give it a five out of ten. Not impressed at all.

That's how I feel. I think I'll film a video of blowing up my polystone Rogue-eyed Timber for S&G. And 2 hundee? This guy costs more than Thor, Odin, Cap, and Spider-Man. Weird.

Now THIS is funny!

Late to the party, but I stopped by Sideshow and checked out the pics before I stopped in this thread.

After seeing the pics, I am reading exactly what I expected to.

And I noticed most of the items people are complaining about but I like it anyway. It is badass and I will get it. 2 exclusives if they allow. And I like Timber. I have no issue whatsoever with the joints as I fully understand that if I want articuation, I WILL sacrifice aesthetics.

I am surprised that the snarling head ended up as the exclusive item, though. Strange choice in my opinion.

you really are okie with the way the head connects to the body? they look like those $10 farm animals the disney store sells...

The more I look at the pictures the more dissapointed I get. :monkey2This might be the 1st figure I purchase somewhere else, if at all. Like Nam mentioned, for us in CAL the figure could be in 250.00 range.

But I know it is not.

And yes, I have said for years on this forum that I don't want statues. I want action figures. And know that means we will see joints. And The swappable heads are going to cause that to be magnified. I am fine with it.

Its amazing how the tone of thread can swing so far in less that a week! Page 1 is nothing but praise and people getting ready to ditch their V1 figures before hes not worth anything anymore. Then Pics are released today and suddently the V1 is the most awesome Snake Eyes figure again :lol

I figured this was going to be $200 when they threw in Timber. Snakes is easily around $150 alone, perhaps Zartan price. Timber just had to put him up to $200, especially being articulated. Yeah he may be like an action figure dog, but they are making SEVERAL THOUSAND less of him than one at Toysrus, hense the difference in prices of those.

I am disapointed the Timber head was the exclusive, especially after hearing early in the week that Timber and Snakes were both coming with 2 heads. I figured that meant the regular, not exclusive. I was thinking the EX was going to be an unmasked or at least battle damaged mask Snake Eyes after SilentSurfer's "heads up" on the EX. :(

Solid looking overall, but some design changes could've put this over more.

The sweater looks a little too bulky, perhaps on another body-type like a Truetype it'd look better? The inconsistencies on the plastic pieces along with the fabric also stick out like a sore thumb as well. I'm sure it's the lighting like people mention but it just makes it look silly.

I think Sideshow has done fairly well with the G.I. Joe line and keeping the designs realistic and not super far-fetched a la the G.I. Joe movie! The biggest flaw to the G.I. Joe line is the Prometheus body in my opinion. This is an AWESOME figure and true to Snakes' roots, just the materials don't mesh/fit well and that sort of leaves the disappointing thoughts.

I wish Sideshow though would've done the Snake-Eyes version 2, or some sort of variation SIMILAR to it. The first Snake Eyes figure was a blend of the Commando original v1 and the v2 and this one is seemingly much more like the v1.

I think part of the reason they shy away from doing a "true" v2 is that they know the Prometheus body underneath would look terrible with all the "spandex" ninja gear. Borrow a Truetype then Sideshow and give us the ULTIMATE G.I. JOE!

....or just give us Faceplate Cobra Commander already Sideshow!

This release makes me scared for Destro. I won't be paying $200 for this. Am I the only one who hates his pants?

Yeah, thinking about Destro is quite worry-some

Sideshow is NOT Hot Toys and they are really pushing it with the pricing for these, especially when they are just doing what Hasbro does-
"Franken-parts-Joe"

I mean, how many times are they going to keep re-using the gloves for every Joe? how about some bare hands?

SE steals Hawk/Stalkers assault rifle, then borrows Duke's Grenade launcher piece/shells.Then he steals Firefly's gun,and storm Shadow's Sword..among using the same handgun and grenades used over and over...

of course the claim will be that Timber's articulation tooling is expensive, just like Mattel's Toyguru who uses this as his excuse to charge more.

From SSC on Facebook about the baggy sweater:
Sideshow Collectibles said:
2. Picture is prototype, production will come very close to what is in the gallery. We can't have it too tight because it has to be able to be removed – he has bigger arms than the standard Prometheus body.

I thought this had a zipper in front, should make removing the sweater easy.
:dunno

the extra timber head should of NOT been the Exlusive! it should of been already included

I was expecting the Radio-active Cannister from the cartoon or something unique
