on facebook ss said it would have a new sweater and pants so i imagine the patches on the arm are intended to go from the elbow to the wrist kind of like a sweater i would think lowlight would be sporting. anyway i think it looks pretty boss so far and i think this new se is going to blow away all expectations anyone has for this figure. i always get a kick out of all the complaints from one picture that doesn,t show much. i think i will display v2 facing off with v1 snake eyes. i think the exclusive piece will be a little black book of all the joe and cobra chicks the silent master busted out.

Ive never seen a military sweater with patches like that, that's all.

there is a lot of things i have never seen in the military that are in the gi joe universe. that is what i have always found so great about it.

I have storm shadow, beachhead and red ninja and swore I was done with GI Joe for my collection,...I was wrong, this guy is the be all of all the Joe characters and this will be a most welcomed addition.

I personally didn't think the original was up to par. Great first attempt, but it didn't draw me into the line like Firefly and the Viper eventually did, so I've been anticipating this release, big time. All the claims against Sideshow have their validity, too, but I really appreciate how they've taken collector's complaints against the first version and improved on them with a different version of the character. I probably won't have a use for the visor hs, but I like that they're revisiting this and taking our critiques into consideration. It seems it's only been a few years since manufacturers in general have started taking our opinions into serious consideration, and I think Sideshow has been making an awesome showing of it - from the last minute Firefly head deco to this; I thank you, Sideshow. Keep raising the bar!

This is one re-visit that I am OK with.

After this. I dont want to see any more variant's, tweeks, or re-visits until we see some sorely missed characters.

Man what I wouldn't do for a Sand Ninja. Or a water ninja either. Only knock is that this is Commando SE and not a ninja version of him...but he does have a sword.... so I guess Sideshow and I are all good.

I don't mind Sideshow coming back to SE this soon before so many other cool characters that still need to be made. Since he is the one main character that I would be willing to have 2 different versions of on my shelves, with SS being a slight possibility. As long as we don't start seeing this become a habit with characters that have already been released. Then again, I do have both the CC figs, so nevermind what I just said:slap:cuckoo:.

Military sweaters have it that way and so does Beach Head and Stalker (Ex sweater).

No biggie if they dont. Ill just use a ACI sweater I have in my parts bin.

Yeah, that's just one type. A pretty old-fashioned type, actually, that's been around for decades, so while it would indeed work with what is essentially a 1982 design (or heavily inspired by it, anyway), I think they're going with something a bit more modern (though you do still see these occasionally).

All I'm saying is that I am in the military and have actually been issued gear with patches like that. I think it's just another example of Sideshow updating the figure with contemporary military gear, that's all. I like it!

The more I think about it, the less I think the exclusive will be a visor or a falchion sword, as some are hoping for. Sideshow is pretty good at not making the exclusive pieces stuff we've already got/seen before.

Timber doesn't count, since he wasn't really an exclusive piece (all the Waypoints had 'em) and is now articulated and included with an actual figure.

Of course, I don't think you can actually use the visored head from the first figure on anything else, can you? At least, not easily, since the fabric is attached to the bodysuit... But his V2 sword? No way.

I think it'll be something out of left field, like it almost always seems to be with these figures.

im just hoping for some more parts to go on the first release so we can bump him up like the 85 version too. like where is his arm pouches and grenade belt. maybe the 85 will be next

Even Hasbro had several updates for Snake Eyes. He's one of the most released figures. I don't see Sideshow passing up the opportunity for a money grab either, so I think we'll see a few more versions.

:goodpost::exactly:

As much as this is the Snake Eyes we all want, it is only for now, the definitive version.

Bound to be more...and from a collector's stand point... completely sucks.

This is ALL the Snake Eyes I will need. This '82 version IS the definitive version to me

Disagree with that, that's not even what I was saying. :lol

Commando SE IS the difinitive version. There'll be other incarnations to come, but this one will be the one to own. It's what most of us older freaks wanted to begin with and are glad it's coming now. Those who miss him can enjoy the babyblue, gray and buttbright orange version to come. :wave :lol
