I wouldn't put it past mr. lucas.

I also heard he may colour code the stormtroopers, and we've already seen that to some degree.

I received my Stormie PF. It is a very cool statue, a nice rendition of one of the most iconic villains ever. I also like it despite the helmet not being very well sculpted/accurate because Stormies are my collecting focus. But the belt arrived broken in half. In a way I'm glad (if you can say so :slap) it is only that since I've seen ones with broken shoulder armor or even broken leg. I'm sure Mike from Razor's Edge will get me a replacement

This was the worst packaging I have ever seen in my life for a higher end item (I mean the Sideshow packaging, not Mike's from Razor's since he packed it well), and seeing how badly they designed the foam packaging, I wish the idiot who designed it had stayed in front of me when I was carrying a big wooden pole. I would have impaled the stupid designer without any remorse. :nana:

Come on guys, let's get this straight, Stormtroopers are NOT clones!

:goodpost::exactly::exactly:

any word if Sideshow is updating the packaging to working better?

Yeah they are, see my post above LOL :monkey1

^have too agree with you there jkno.

Received mine today also, rattling box syndrome
Opened it up and a hand along with the thermal detonator thingy was loose. Fortunately nothing broken.
The base however was packed in the foam- not loose like some others.
Overall happy to have 1/4 scale PF of this icon.

Mike at Razor's has one of the best customer services out there and there are quite a few members he that can back me up on this. It is not his fault Sideshow packed this statue (and others) like retards. The Stormtrooper itself was packed separately by Mike with a sheet of bubble wrap, not just the stupid paper and plastic SS provided. The helmet was put separately in a special bubble wrap as well. The art box itself was put inside another huge one with tons of peanuts and the base was wrapped in 3 layers of bubble wrap and then in a special bag. He kept these small parts packed like Sideshow did and maybe that's why the belt broke.

Mike told me he opened up each and every Stormie PF he got and replaced the damaged ones (I have shown him threads with damaged stormies from SSF and Rebelscum and he was shocked) and even a few bases. He didn't use the original SS shipping box, but the art box was put inside a huge brown shipping box with lots of bubble wrap and peanuts.

The thing is that the armor of this PF has some very accurate things compared to other statue and figures, and one of them is exactly this belt, with cloth back part and separate canister (thermal detonator) with metal clips (which is screen accurate). So it is a very cool and impressive statue.

Wish Sideshow rethinks their packaging before releasing other statues like this. It might upset some of the loyal customers. I managed to glue the belt with superglue, you can't really see the damage since it was a clean break, but still it is not like it supposed to be when new. Will wait for the replacement which should be here soon. Then I'll take a few shots of it.

FINALLY, got mine yesterday and I guess you'll all reaffirm mine is broken after I tell you what's happened :(

His right leg, at the knee joint, bends slightly. I've pulled at it to see if it's going to pop off but nothing I do seems to make it worse/move any further than a 5 degree, back and forth?

When I place him on the base it actually helps to place the left foot squarely on the ground.

Saying all that, everything else is perfect and I don't want to risk returning him with the fear of getting one in worse condition.

Thoughts?

If broken, I would replace. If it was a slight mark that was hidden or pass as weathering i'd keep. In your case that appears cracked, so I'd replace.
It would always bother me

I have to send mine back for a replacement as well. :(

Despite some of the packaging and bucket issues, I think this one's a keeper. Hopefully they come up with some form of a variant in the future, as I would love another one with a different pose, or possibly a Han or Luke Stormie.

I'm somewhat tempted to ask Sideshow how much they would sell a broken legged one for so I could break some more of the joints, re-pose and glue it back together. :lol

I just got my replacement notice yesterday for this one. It should be about 7-10 more days before this one will grace my shelves again. I hope it arrives safely.

When something like a leg arrives broken, replacement is the only way. I managed to glue back my belt but even so I'm waiting for a new one as replacement. I paid for a pristine perfect statue, if anything comes broken due to bad packaging it is not my fault but producer's.

SS could have attached the belt themselves and thus no problem with damages or placing on the body. It is nice to have a separate belt, but completely unnecessary.

OK so I finally opened mine and the only issue is the wonky leg. Has anyone received this statue without this issue either on their first shipment or as a replacement? I did display him and it is something I can live with-I'm a little concerned about contacting Sideshow for a replacement as I fear receiving one with broken shoulder straps, belt, etc. What do you guys think.

I just opened mine and it looks great, but it will have to stay in the box for a while since there is no base. I figured that the biggest part of this piece would be the most obvious thing for SS to check to make sure it was present.

Wonky right leg?

Same as mine. Once displayed it looks fine and I'm in the same boat as you - everything else is perfect so I've decided not to return it. Too much grief; better the devil you know :slap

Mandible I feel the same way- yes it is the right leg. I'm leaning towards keeping it as well. This is the first time I have received a damaged item from SS, but I must say I was disappointed in the packaging for the Stormie ( like everyone else on the boards). I hope this is not a new trend as I have a few more pieces on pre- order.

Ditto. It's a bit of a worry :(

Isn't the base in the brown shipping box?

Wonky right leg doesn't mean it is broken? I would go for a replacement. If you don't live in US you might be asked to destroy your statue to receive a new one so no need to send it back. But anyway I'd ask for replacement.

Just noticed something a bit odd on my Stormtrooper. The right mic tip (left if you're looking at it) has a bit of what looks like casting residue. I already emailed Sideshow about it to see if I can get a replacement. This isn't a big deal to most but it is to me. I paid $300 for something, I expect it to be perfect. Anybody have this issue with theirs? Hopefully I get a timely response from Sideshow. My replacement antenna for my Commandy Cody still hasn't been taken care of. :dunno
