it's not next to a true 1/4 Pred

I hope the 1/4 HT's Preds have real rubber quills and not sculpted ones. Even real quills on the (new?) 1/6's would be nice.

me too, but I think at 1/4, they have to have 2 heads, cause the mask over closed mandibles never looks all that great to me. Metal blades and masks should be pretty cool. EB did metal weapons, so HT has no choice but to match them.

Also, I feel that if they are going all out on the big Preds than they need to loose the mandible seems and concentrate on the mandible sculpts by having two heads.

I meant that he actual has a pic of P1 near him for future reference instead of him using his magic powers of what a Pred should look like.

I'm hoping he'll be looking at the real thing this time around and make the faces more dead on. His P2 is looking great even though the abs look kind of P1ish. I'm so looking forward to the Wolf, P1 and P2. Tsang keeps getting better every time out and these should be great figures. I'm wondering how tall these will be because ours is to small to be 1/4th. 21 inches would be so very cool. 1/4th scale all the way and way to go HT.

In response to the rest of the news, I'm flippin' psyched!
Classic is definitely close to P1 as HT said, but there is still room for improvement. Maybe upping the scale and giving Tsang a chance to sculpt his third version will give us a more-accurate figure. I think it's time to get out of NECA completely, sell that P1 when the time comes. Hopefully HT's version will be able to stand more easily without falling (of course it will, it'll include a base ).
And AVP Predators in 1/4? I might end up being one of the few, but it's a dream come true. Bring on Scar, bring on Celtic, bring on Chopper all over again. I'm just imagining my entire collection upgraded and scaled up.

Now, if they're taking their announcement seriously -- word for word -- then does that mean we might get upgraded AVP Predators in 1/6? Ach, what am I saying? As much as I want to stick to a single scale, you throw a giant Predator in my face and my wallet's out.

Guess I'll need to sell my Dead figures eventually...

yea, having mandible seams at 1/4 scale would look cheap as hell. 2 heads is a defn must. They don't need to make optional closed/open mouths. They just need to choose one or the other and have a Biohead.

Indeed. Their P2 Elder sculpt is still the best for that reason.

the BIGGEST news for me from their facebook post was this -

Either they'll look cheap as hell (assuming everything is literally scaled up) or they'll be harder to notice because the seam width would be the same, but the piece itself would be larger.




Lordy, a 1/4 Predator line by Hot Toys... I still can't fully-believe it. I might as well take a bulldozer to my current shelves, and the scariest part is I'm only midly upset about that!

I just went through the classic ritual of pacing back and forth in front of my shelves to figure out how I'll afford the money (and space) for these new figures, which is something I do after every massive announcement. Here I was, thinking the only time I'd have to do that this year was during SDCC when Classic and the other SSC Alien statues were announced.

I have a few things I'll be selling: my X-Box, but that was in the cards long before this; my Dead figures, since SSC doesn't seem to be getting back into the line; and my Medicom RAH Alien, once the SSC statue arrives. The 1/4 NECA P1 might have to go, as well.
Not going to lie, I also eyed my HT Predator detolf carefully, but decided to wait a while before making any decisions involving them because the fact is: we have no idea what other Predators they'll make in 1/4 or remake in 1/6. I'll handle the resales of my HT Predators (if I absolutely have to) as specific news unfolds. For now, they're all staying.

Heh, the best part is you can sell a 1/6 AVP Predator collection to fully-finance a 1/4 AVP Predator collection.
