Predators - 1/6th scale Classic Predator Collectible Figure

I dont know how the 'classics' eyes are supposed to look in the movie, but I know how the eyes look on the Predator in the original 1987 movie, and thats why I like the PS edits that RIDDICK and GREG customs did.

The eyes on the original movie predator are slightly bigger, more closer together and are lower down than this figures eyes.
Im not complaining though, because I actually like the figures eyes, and at the end of the day, its not supposed to be the original predator.

All the heads have the same sculpt with slightly different paint apps, but the Taiwanese version has the sclera painted wider that it is on the full release.

I'm starting to like the first batch head a bit more after seeing the eye discussion on here. I like the tiny eyes on the second batch, quite insect like, but you guys are right, they are not screen accurate.

I find the whole mess up with the paint job on the first batch quite interesting. It is a true variant, it's not bad or incorrect paint application, rather a completely different badly judged approach to the eyes. They actually have an outer yellow edge, inside which is an orange iris then a black pupil. The second batch doesn't have the orange ring does it?

I wonder who made that mistake?

I know the sculpt is the same. Im wasnt talking about the sculpt when I said the eyes are lower down and closer together blah blah blah. Im talking about the eyes themselves if you know what I mean....just the yellow ball part.

I'll pick the smaller eyes version but I would choose RIDDICKs PS if that was an option.

as well as longer neck, lower height, smaller belly, sillier face and everything else that HT did because they like ssang more than predator.

when HT predator will become bigger than HT alien - that will be the time for height compares.

Arent Aliens supposed to be bigger than Predators though? Ive always had the mind set that the Predator (at least the ones portrayed by KPH) were around 7'5"-7'6" area, where as a Xenomorph was closer to around 8' (at least thats the size they describe it in Alien 3 and thats just a Dog Alien, Id imagine human hosted Aliens to be bigger) Its just hard to tell with the Aliens because they are always crouching/crawling to get a good interpretation of their size.

Yey, glad you're coming round to not resenting it!

It's not like paint is all wrong its just different. I find the backlash at the first released version to be a bit of a knee jerk reaction to people finding out they were getting the 2nd batch. Because everybody loved the first batch pictures bar the pale forehead (which batch 2 still has) when they started popping up. And it was a definite buy and the best Predator so far. Then we saw the difference in the 2nd batch people started saying they "fixed" it as opposed to changed. Because personally i still prefer the paintwork on the Silver mesh and full yellow eyes and the brown paintwork on the cheeks that melds with the crown better of the first. (and i own both versions so im not biased)

I think id of liked the black mesh version more if it was pure black and not just inverted colours.

The only thing i dont like about the first batch is it could do with a couple of more painted quills. But that takes 5 seconds do to manually.

Yeah, I agree. I ordered a second batch head as well, so also not biased. I don't have the two full figures though, just the heads. Were there any other differences that you can see apart from the head?

Yeah, I think I do. I was talking about the shape of the eyes, too. But, I still like the shape of the eyes on the full release more than the Taiwan version. But both are accurate to Classic.

Kevin=2.20, Bolaji=2.10, Kevin has fake head&crown above his own, Bolaji has heels. crown=heels. Predator > Alien.
that's how i count it and what heights i got from articles. are they correct?
plus (and that is a very bold plus) predator has muscles and fat, alien doesn't, it makes predator even bigger in 3 dimensions.

If anyone in UK/Ireland is interested, they have the Predators Blu-ray boxset for 17.99 euro in HMV. Thats Pred, Pred 2 and Preds. Amazing value. 6 discs! I picked it up earlier as it was cheaper than buying Pred2 on it's own.

I think we have accept at this point that they just aren't going to make Predators in true 1/6. Well I don't know about the guy who played Classic but thats not big enough for KPH. However, not like HT is alone in that, the other company doesn't make them to proper scale either.

that's a 7'2" actor with a big fake head above him (unlike 6'8" alien actor by the way)
why cannot HT just expand all the parts.

But if they make the figure bulkier he has to be taller so as to retain the proportions.

Thats why the scale thing has bugged me a bit in the past. In the film Arnie is so small next to the Predator that he looks outmatched in every way while the figures have always had it that it looks like a fight could go either way. That Dutch figure looks like it could take the Predator in a hand-to-hand battle.

However, if you can get over that and at this point I can, you've still got a great looking figure. I wouldn't be displaying Predator and Dutch in battle anyway, unless I had a mud-covered warrior Dutch.
