I like how some statues have expressive face sculpts. HT figures usually come with neutral expressions, which is cool, but sometimes I want a face sculpt to be more expressive to match certain poses. A shouting, battle cry, Thor face sculpt would be a nice inclusion in these 1/4 figures. Would be cool of HT to include a couple of face sculpts, without adding too much to the price.

They should just start doing more expressive sculpts, period. They don't have to be battle cries, but some form of expression would be nice. Their 1:6 Thor is one of the worst in this regard.

Anyone have any ideas on when they may release the first figure? I am not accustomed to how they do business. Will they wait till the movie releases, or do they like to do things ahead of time?

I would imagine that they'll premiere the first Avengers figures in terms of teasers after the new year. With their lead time, six months would equal right about the time to capitalize. I have a feeling it'll be two figures off the bat and they'll be Iron Man and Cap, I think we'll get the whole team but I think they'll peacemeal them out. I wouldn't be shocked if we got Cap in 1:6 and Iron Man in 1:4 at first then as the line continues have fill in both, although the jury is still out on whether I think we'll realistically get a full Avengers set up in 1:4.

It's supposed that HT gets details about the characters from the studios of the film before it is released isn't it?

They do, they work off of conceptuals which is why some of the first releases are a little off. Most notably the very first Ledger Joker but there have been others. I wouldn't be shocked if protos are met but unfortunately (especially with Marvel Studios) so much CGI work goes into it before release that even the actors aren't sure what it looks like until premiere. War Machine for example was worked up until 2 days until premiere and some after that which is why all the War Machine products seem to have a different scheme from what we saw on screen especially the SSC ones with the green military highlights that never made it.

What figures from this line are people going to get then? I've just watched the trailer again and seen the new banners and it got me thinking...

The only ones that I think I'll definitely pass on are Hawkeye and Black Widow. I'll probably pass on Loki as well as I'm planning to get the Thor variant. Depending on what the mrk VI looks like I may pass on that as well.

Definitely going to get the new Captain America, the mrk VII, Nick Fury, Hulk and probably the new Thor though. Going to be expensive next year :thud:

Might get Thor cause I passed on the first. Might get Hulk and Iron Man if the figure/look is really impressive. Probably going to pass on Cap cause I think the suit looks ridiculous, but it might look better in figure form? Have no intentions on buying Fury, Hawkeye or Loki.

Aside from the price, the usual HT quality control issues make me very hesitant about a larger scale.

Can you imagine the amount of potentially breakable parts on a 1:4 scale Iron Man?

I've never had any issues with their IM figures. The only one I may get from this line is a Mark VI cause I don't like the SS version. The pieces they use should be of higher quality since it's on a bigger scale. I'm not worried.

I have a theory. I haven't read through the entire thread so I'm not sure if this has been brought up. If so, please disregard.

I think the 1/4 scale figures should be Mark VI and Thor in his new outfit, and here's why.

Mark VI has already been released in 1/6 scale, so it would be logical to release it again at a bigger scale and reserve the 1/6 scale release of IM in the Mark VII armor. Thor's new costume (chainmail arms) resembles the one he wore in his own movie, so it would make sense to release that in 1/4 scale and release Thor at 1/6 in his sleeveless look.

I dunno, just some ideas that I thought I should share. :)

Aren't you bother with this announcement?

I already have Captain America and Iron Man Mark IV. I don't know what to do next year with this line and my figures...

I don't want to waste a lot of money and buy all of this line. My idea is keeping the Mark IV (if the fading problem allows me to do that) and also Cap (I've to wait untill see how the next figure turns), then buy Thor and Hulk.

The point is, if the 1/4 is going to be more badass than the 1/6 scale actually is... would you go forward to this new scale and "break" the 1/6 hegemony??

I just started collecting 1/6 @ 2 years ago. And I didn't get my first HT 1/6 until @ a year ago. I have 20 Marvel and DC HT and I have no interest switching to 1/4.

ESPECIALLY at what will probably be rediculous prices.

Wow I have ZERO interest in 1/4 scale figures...A way to jack up already ridiculously over-priced action figures. Who the hell has the room to even display these, maybe in comic shops but I already think that 1/6 is pushing the limit for size in collectibles.
