He needs to stop hanging out with that guy...:thwak. He's not a good story teller.

Since the third instalment wasn't that shabby as story goes, that's got to be a good thing, right? But what of Indiana Jones? We asked Spielberg about his reaction to the critiques of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as well as his future plans for the archaeologist. Where do things stand right now?

"You have to ask George Lucas. George is in charge of breaking the stories. He's done it on all four movies. Whether I like the stories or not, George has broken all the stories. He is working on Indy V. We haven't gone to screenplay yet, but he's working on the story. I'll leave it to George to come up with a good story."

And Crystal Skull? "I'm very happy with the movie. I always have been... I sympathise with people who didn't like the MacGuffin because I never liked the MacGuffin. George and I had big arguments about the MacGuffin. I didn't want these things to be either aliens or inter-dimensional beings. But I am loyal to my best friend. When he writes a story he believes in - even if I don't believe in it - I'm going to shoot the movie the way George envisaged it. I'll add my own touches, I'll bring my own cast in, I'll shoot the way I want to shoot it, but I will always defer to George as the storyteller of the Indy series. I will never fight him on that."

And on the specifics of the criticisms, Spielberg takes some of them as a badge of pride. "The gopher was good. I have the stand-in one at home. What people really jumped at was Indy climbing into a refrigerator and getting blown into the sky by an atom-bomb blast. Blame me. Don't blame George. That was my silly idea. People stopped saying "jump the shark". They now say, "nuked the fridge". I'm proud of that. I'm glad I was able to bring that into popular culture."

Love his reaction to NUKED THE FRIDGE. :lol

The whole gopher and fridge things don't bother me a bit. I liked those personally but then again I liked the movie.

He can't defend the monkey swing ... no matter how hard he tries! :pfft: :monkey4 :sick

:lol

I love how many times he used the word story/stories in that paragraph. I'm an excellent driver. :lol

I didnt mind the "Alien" Aspect. I thought the directing was bad, Ford seemed half dead acting in that film. I also hated the Fridge part. But lets no forget Shia Laboof, Indy now has a kid.....There were so many problems with this film, and I actully liked the story except for Shia part. Lucas should hang it up and let PJ do a new Indy and SW film.

Even though I really like Cate Blanchett as an actress, I hated her character in this, such a lame villain & I hate Shia Labeouf, he ruined it for me as well. I didn't actually hate the film, it had some good moments, when them two weren't in it but it's nothing compared to the original 3. Oh & I hated the ending to. With Blanchetts character already dead, hopefully Lebeoufs character will be killed of straight away in Indy V

The fridge wasn't bad it just should have been the finale.
If anyone understands not shooting your load too early it should be Spielberg. Jaws featured its one big explosion at the end.

If they'd move the area 51 stuff to the end and had one last big battle culminating with the nuke it would have been cool.

Shia LaDouche is an arrogant little punk in real life to. I was so happy when he got humiliated by getting his face pounded by some fat hairy out of shape drunk.

I love how he trolling the haters. Too bad he's not the one who inventd it :lol Well while Lucas is still responsible for the story part of the IJ movies the entire franchise gonna be increasingly closer to end up as STAR WARS BEGINS.

Umad.
The story and characters was horrible but the movie itself was pretty nicely done.

Excuse me? Have I missed something? Because last time I checked, Jar Jar was the funniest Star Wars character and a great addition to the prequels *Shuts off all electronics connected to the internet and hides under bed*
